The Rain Bird 1802 is a compact pop-up spray body from the proven Rain Bird 1800 Series. It is designed for automatic irrigation of low-cut lawns, planting beds and smaller landscaped areas. With a pop-up height of 5.1 cm (2 inches), the 1802 is particularly suitable for areas where only a low riser height is required. The spray body is permanently installed below ground and remains almost completely hidden when the irrigation system is not operating.

When irrigation starts, water pressure raises the stem from the body and positions the installed nozzle above the surrounding surface. Once watering stops, a strong stainless steel return spring reliably retracts the stem back into the housing. The pressure-activated wiper seal helps protect the mechanism against dirt and debris and supports reliable operation in different soil conditions.

The Rain Bird 1802 is supplied without a nozzle. This allows you to select the appropriate Rain Bird nozzle according to the size and shape of the area you want to irrigate. Depending on the spray or rotary nozzle used, different throw distances and watering patterns can be achieved. This makes the spray body a flexible solution for small lawns, borders, planting beds and individually shaped irrigation zones.

The Rain Bird 1800 Series is widely used in residential and professional irrigation systems. Its durable construction, UV-resistant plastic housing, corrosion-resistant components and strong stainless steel spring are designed for reliable long-term operation. The ratcheting mechanism also makes it easy to align the installed nozzle with the area to be watered.

With its low 5.1 cm pop-up height, the Rain Bird 1802 is particularly suitable for short grass and installations where a taller riser is not required. For standard lawn areas with taller grass, the Rain Bird 1804 with its 10.2 cm pop-up height is often a more suitable choice. Additional models with greater pop-up heights are available within the Rain Bird 1800 Series.

Compatible nozzles for the Rain Bird 1802

The Rain Bird 1802 can be combined with a variety of Rain Bird spray and rotary nozzles. The selected nozzle determines the throw distance, watering pattern and water distribution, allowing the same spray body to be adapted to different areas and irrigation requirements.

The nozzle is not included and can be selected separately to suit your planned irrigation area.

Installation and use

The Rain Bird 1802 is installed in the ground with the top of the spray body approximately level with the surrounding surface. The irrigation pipe is connected through the 1/2-inch female threaded bottom inlet. A suitable flexible pipe or swing joint can be used to provide a flexible connection between the spray body and the underground irrigation pipe.

When planning your irrigation system, consider the relatively low 5.1 cm pop-up height. The 1802 is particularly suitable for low and closely cut areas. For taller grass or denser vegetation, a Rain Bird 1800 Series model with a greater pop-up height may be more suitable.
