Irrigation controllers for automatic watering
With an irrigation controller, you can automatically determine when and how long your garden is watered. Depending on the model, you can programme several irrigation zones independently and, for example, water lawns, beds or hedges at different times. This means you no longer have to switch your irrigation system on and off manually every day.
With a little planning, you can also set up an automatic irrigation control system yourself. The controller operates the individual irrigation zones via solenoid valves. Depending on the features you need, conventional controllers as well as Wi-Fi irrigation controllers are available for convenient operation. This allows you to automate lawn irrigation, drip irrigation and micro irrigation to suit your garden.
Irrigation controllers by brand
Irrigation controllers are available from different manufacturers such as Rain Bird and Hunter and are designed for a wide range of requirements. The systems differ in areas such as the number of irrigation zones, programming options, expandability and smart control features. This allows you to choose the controller that best suits your current irrigation system and your future plans.
When choosing a controller, it is also worth considering compatible expansion modules, sensors and other accessories from the respective manufacturer. If you want to add more solenoid valves or irrigation zones later, an expandable controller is particularly useful. This allows you to start small and expand your garden irrigation system step by step.
Sensors for efficient irrigation
Sensors make your automatic irrigation system even more convenient. A rain sensor, for example, can detect when sufficient rainfall has occurred and interrupt irrigation accordingly. Depending on the system, additional weather data or information about soil moisture can also be taken into account when controlling your irrigation system.
Integrating a suitable sensor is straightforward with many irrigation controllers. Make sure that the sensor and controller are compatible with each other. Combined with solenoid valves and a well-planned irrigation system, this can help prevent unnecessary watering and adapt the water supply more closely to the actual needs of your garden.
Accessories for controllers and installation
With the right accessories, you can install, expand and adapt your irrigation control system to your garden. Depending on the system, expansion modules, connection components, Wi-Fi modules and other controller accessories are available. These allow you to add additional irrigation zones or extend the existing functions of your controller.
You do not have to install your entire system at once. For example, you can start with a few solenoid valves and a suitable controller and later expand the system with sensors or smart irrigation control. Combined with valve boxes, irrigation pipes, pop-up rotors and drip irrigation, you can gradually create an automatic garden irrigation system that you can plan and install yourself.
