Rain Bird pop-up rotor sprinkler 6504-FC-SS-SAM (12 - 20m) full circle

Rain Bird Falcon 6504-FC-SS with stainless steel riser

The Rain Bird Falcon 6504-FC-SS is a heavy-duty gear-driven pop-up rotor designed for irrigation of large lawns, sports fields, parks and commercial turf areas. It combines continuous 360° full-circle operation with a durable stainless steel riser and an integrated SAM check valve.

With a radius of approximately 12 to 20 m, the Falcon provides significantly greater coverage than smaller residential rotors. The stainless steel version is particularly suitable for areas where increased resistance to mechanical damage is required.

Continuous 360° full-circle irrigation

FC stands for Full Circle. This model operates exclusively as a continuous 360° rotor. It is therefore particularly suitable for positions located within large open turf areas.

If an adjustable part-circle pattern is required along boundaries, paths or the edge of a sports field, the Falcon 6504-PC-SS is the more appropriate version.

Stainless steel riser

SS stands for Stainless Steel. The stainless steel riser provides additional mechanical protection compared with the standard plastic version.

Rain Bird specifically offers the stainless steel option for demanding and public turf areas where resistance to damage and vandalism can be particularly important.

Eight Rain Curtain nozzles included

This European version is supplied with eight colour-coded Rain Curtain nozzles: 04 black, 06 light blue, 08 dark green, 10 grey, 12 beige, 14 light green, 16 dark brown and 18 dark blue.

The wide nozzle selection allows flow and irrigation performance to be adapted closely to available water supply, operating pressure and sprinkler spacing.

Three-port Rain Curtain technology

Each Rain Curtain nozzle uses three water outlets to distribute water across the long-range, mid-range and close-in portions of the irrigation pattern. Larger droplets improve wind resistance while close-in watering helps prevent dry areas around the rotor.

SAM check valve as standard

The Falcon 6504 includes Rain Bird's Seal-A-Matic check valve. It can hold approximately 3.1 m of elevation difference, reducing low-head drainage after irrigation shuts down.

This helps reduce puddling, water loss and erosion around lower sprinkler locations on sloping landscapes.

High-flow performance for large turf

Depending on nozzle size and pressure, flow ranges from approximately 0.66 to 4.93 m³/h or 10.8 to 82.2 l/min. Adequate water supply and dynamic pressure are therefore essential when designing an irrigation zone using multiple Falcon rotors.

Installation

The European version uses a 1-inch BSP female threaded inlet. A properly sized swing joint or flexible rotor connection is recommended for accurate positioning and height adjustment.

The body is approximately 21.6 cm high and the riser extends approximately 10.2 cm during operation. The top of the retracted sprinkler should be installed approximately level with the finished turf surface.

6504-FC compared with 6504-FC-SS

Both versions provide the same basic full-circle irrigation performance and integrated SAM check valve. The main difference is the riser material. The FC-SS version uses a stainless steel riser for additional mechanical protection.

Accessories and frequently asked questions

Are the Rain Curtain nozzles included?

Yes. Eight colour-coded Rain Curtain nozzles are supplied with this European version. The included sizes are 04, 06, 08, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18.

What does SS mean?

SS stands for Stainless Steel and identifies the stainless steel riser, which provides increased mechanical protection compared with the standard plastic version.

Does the Falcon 6504-FC-SS include a check valve?

Yes. SAM is standard on the Falcon 6504 Series and holds approximately 3.1 m of elevation difference.

Can the watering arc be adjusted?

No. The FC version is a dedicated continuous 360° full-circle rotor. For adjustable part-circle irrigation, choose the 6504-PC-SS version.

What accessories are recommended for installation?

A suitable 1-inch BSP connection, adequately sized irrigation pipe and a heavy-duty swing joint or flexible rotor connection are recommended. The pipework must also be sized for the relatively high flow required by Falcon rotors.

Can the nozzles be replaced later?

Yes. Falcon Rain Curtain nozzles can be replaced from the front without removing the complete sprinkler. The self-adjusting stator does not need to be changed when switching nozzle sizes.
