Swing joints for pop-up sprinklers
Swing joints provide a flexible connection between pop-up sprinklers and underground irrigation pipes. Their movable joints make it easier to adjust the position and installation height of the sprinkler and compensate for small differences during installation.

Swing joints for pop-up sprinklers
Swing joints are flexible sprinkler connections that allow you to connect pop-up sprinklers reliably to the underground pipework of your lawn irrigation system. Instead of mounting the sprinkler directly onto a rigid main line, a movable connection is created between the pipe and sprinkler.
This makes installing multiple pop-up sprinklers much easier. The PE main pipe does not have to run directly underneath every sprinkler. You can create an outlet using a tapping saddle or another suitable threaded fitting and then connect the sprinkler to this outlet with a swing joint.
Position pop-up sprinklers more easily
The movable joints allow the position of the connected sprinkler to be adjusted within the available range. This is useful when a sprinkler needs to be moved slightly during installation or aligned accurately with a lawn edge. Its installation height can also be adjusted more easily to match the finished ground level.
This flexibility helps compensate for small differences in the position of the underground pipework. You can align the pop-up sprinkler so that its top sits correctly in relation to the lawn surface and does not unnecessarily interfere with mowing or normal use of the garden.
Flexible connection to the PE main pipe
To install a swing joint, first create a suitable outlet from the PE irrigation pipe. Depending on your system, this can be done with a tapping saddle or a suitable threaded PE fitting. The swing joint then connects this outlet to the threaded inlet of the pop-up sprinkler.
When selecting the components, check the required thread sizes and dimensions of the swing joint. The sprinkler, connection and threads must be compatible. After installation, test the connection under operating pressure and check that the sprinkler is correctly positioned and securely installed.
Make installation and maintenance easier
A flexible sprinkler connection can also make later adjustments easier. If the lawn level changes or additional soil is added, the position of the sprinkler can often be corrected more easily depending on the installation. A rigid connection may require more extensive changes to the underground pipework.
With PE pipes, tapping saddles, swing joints and suitable pop-up sprinklers, you can install many parts of your automatic lawn irrigation system yourself. Plan the sprinkler positions before laying the pipework and use the flexible connections for accurate final positioning within the lawn.
