32 mm PE irrigation pipes
PE pipes with a 32 mm diameter are ideal as main supply pipes for many garden irrigation systems. They reliably transport higher water flow rates and are frequently used to supply pop-up sprinklers, solenoid valves and several irrigation zones.

32 mm PE pipes for irrigation
PE pipes with a 32 mm diameter are frequently used as main supply lines in automatic garden irrigation systems. The pipe diameter provides good capacity for transporting larger volumes of water while helping to keep pressure losses within the pipework low. This makes 32 mm PE pipe suitable for many medium and larger irrigation systems.
A 32 mm main pipe can supply different irrigation zones for lawns, beds, hedges or drip irrigation. Solenoid valves can automatically open and close the individual zones. Whether 32 mm is the correct diameter for your system depends on the required water flow, pipe length, available pressure and overall system design.
32 mm PE pipe as a main supply line
The main pipe of an automatic irrigation system must be able to transport sufficient water to the individual irrigation zones. For many garden systems, 32 mm PE pipe provides a suitable cross section. On longer pipe runs, the larger diameter can help reduce pressure losses compared with smaller pipes.
When choosing the pipe size, calculate how much water the pop-up rotors, sprays or drippers operating simultaneously will require. Pipe length and elevation differences should also be considered. A 32 mm pipe does not increase the available water pressure, but it can reduce pressure losses between the water source and irrigation zones.
Connect and install 32 mm PE pipes
Suitable 32 mm PE compression fittings make installation straightforward. Straight connectors extend pipe runs, elbows allow changes in direction and tees create branches. Threaded fittings can provide transitions to solenoid valves, manifolds and other components within your irrigation system.
Cut the PE pipe cleanly and as squarely as possible with a suitable pipe cutter. The pipe can then be installed using compatible compression fittings. These fittings make it possible to assemble many irrigation pipe systems without complicated specialist tools. After installation, check all connections for leaks under normal operating pressure.
Plan irrigation with 32 mm PE pipe
32 mm PE pipe is particularly suitable for main lines that supply several irrigation areas. A valve box with solenoid valves can distribute water to separate zones for pop-up rotors, pop-up sprays, drip irrigation and micro irrigation, which can then be operated automatically by an irrigation controller.
Always select the pipe diameter according to the required water flow. Smaller lines and individual areas may only require 20 or 25 mm pipes, while larger systems may benefit from 40 or 50 mm pipes. With 32 mm PE pipe, suitable compression fittings and careful planning, you can install many garden irrigation systems yourself.
