16 mm PE compression fittings
16 mm PE compression fittings are a practical solution for smaller distribution pipes in garden irrigation. They are particularly suitable for planted areas, drip and micro irrigation and make it easy to create compact pipe connections and branches.

16 mm fittings for plant irrigation
16 mm pipes are particularly useful where smaller amounts of water need to be distributed to planted areas. Compatible PE compression fittings provide reliable pipe connections and can be used to create compact irrigation systems for beds, hedges and other planted areas.
This pipe size can also serve as a distribution line supplied from a larger main pipe. This allows different pipe diameters to be used throughout the irrigation system according to the requirements of each area.
Supply beds and hedges with 16 mm pipes
A 16 mm pipe can be routed along beds and hedges to distribute water throughout planted areas. Additional compatible components can then deliver water to the required locations. Depending on the system, the pipe can also form part of a drip or micro irrigation installation.
For long planting rows or many outlets operating simultaneously, consider the total required flow. A larger main supply pipe may be appropriate when several smaller 16 mm distribution lines need to be supplied.
Extend and branch 16 mm pipework
Straight connectors extend suitable sections of 16 mm pipe, while elbows help route pipes around beds and garden features. Tees divide the line and make it possible to supply several irrigation areas from one pipe.
Other transition fittings may also be available depending on the system. Check that the compression fitting is specifically suitable for the outside diameter and type of 16 mm pipe being used, as different irrigation pipe systems can vary in their design.
Build drip and micro irrigation systems
A carefully planned 16 mm distribution line can provide water throughout smaller planted areas. Combined with suitable drippers, micro tubing or micro sprinklers, it can form a customised irrigation system adapted to the position and water requirements of the plants.
Drip and micro irrigation systems may also require filters and pressure regulators. Consider how all components work together rather than selecting fittings alone. Once installed, flush the system where appropriate and check all connections carefully for leaks.
