Part-circle pop-up rotors for lawns
Part-circle pop-up rotors are ideal for automatic lawn irrigation when you do not want to irrigate a complete 360-degree circle. Depending on the model, the irrigation arc can be adjusted to match the shape of your lawn. This makes these pop-up rotors particularly suitable for edges, corners and areas alongside paths, patios or garden beds.
During irrigation, water pressure raises the rotor from the ground and distributes the water across the selected area. After watering, it retracts and disappears almost completely into the lawn. This allows you to irrigate your garden automatically without permanently visible sprinklers on the lawn.
Adjust the irrigation arc individually
The main advantage of a part-circle pop-up rotor is its adjustable irrigation arc. Depending on the rotor model, you can set the required arc to suit the shape of your lawn. For a corner, for example, an arc of approximately 90 degrees may be suitable, while around 180 degrees is often ideal along a straight lawn edge. Many models also allow individual settings between these angles.
Correct adjustment allows you to distribute water more precisely across the lawn and helps prevent adjacent paths, walls or patios from being watered unnecessarily. After installation, you can fine-tune the irrigation arc using the appropriate adjustment tool. This also makes it easy to readjust your lawn irrigation system later.
Choosing the right throw distance and rotor
In addition to the irrigation arc, throw distance is an important factor when choosing your pop-up rotors. The appropriate range depends on the size and shape of your lawn as well as the available water pressure and flow rate. Smaller areas require different rotors and nozzles than larger lawns with greater distances between individual sprinklers.
Plan the rotors so that their irrigation areas overlap appropriately. This helps achieve the most even water distribution possible and prevents dry areas between individual sprinklers. Check the available water pressure and flow rate before planning your system and divide larger installations into several irrigation zones if necessary.
Planning part-circle pop-up rotors correctly
It is best to start planning your lawn irrigation system at the corners and outer edges of the area. Position part-circle pop-up rotors there so that they irrigate towards the inside of the lawn. Then add further rotors until the entire lawn is covered as evenly as possible. Full-circle pop-up rotors can also be used in suitable areas.
The pop-up rotors are connected to the PE pipes of the respective irrigation zone using sprinkler connections. Solenoid valves open and close the individual zones, while an irrigation controller manages the required watering times. This allows you to build your own automatic lawn irrigation system and expand or readjust it whenever required.
