Root zone irrigation for trees
With root zone irrigation, you can supply trees with water precisely where they need it and deliver water directly to the important root zone. A reliable water supply is particularly important for newly planted trees. Instead of watering only the soil surface, the irrigation system helps deliver water to deeper areas of the soil.
You can easily install the system yourself using the appropriate components. First, plan which trees need to be watered and where the root zone irrigation system should be positioned. Then connect the system to your water supply. Depending on the setup, several trees can also be supplied through a shared irrigation line.
Root zone irrigation for shrubs and plants
Trees are not the only plants that benefit from targeted irrigation in the root zone. Larger shrubs, specimen plants and other deep-rooted plants can also be supplied with water according to their individual needs. Especially on warm days or during longer dry periods, a suitable garden irrigation system helps provide your plants with a reliable water supply.
Depending on the type of plant, you can combine root zone irrigation with other irrigation methods. For hedges and rows of plants, for example, drip irrigation is a suitable option, while individual drippers can supply specific plants with water. With micro irrigation, you can flexibly integrate smaller planting areas into your irrigation system.
Deliver water directly to the roots
Root zone irrigation focuses on delivering water precisely where it is needed. The water is supplied where the plant can absorb it through its root system. This makes root zone irrigation different from large-area watering with pop-up rotors or pop-up spray heads, where water is primarily distributed over the area from above.
The best solution for your garden depends on the type of plants, soil conditions and available water supply. You do not have to use just one irrigation method throughout your entire garden. Lawn irrigation, drip irrigation, micro irrigation and root zone irrigation can be combined effectively and adapted to the different areas of your garden.
Install root zone irrigation yourself
You can easily integrate root zone irrigation into a new or existing garden irrigation system. Irrigation pipes, micro tubing, fittings and suitable connections allow you to deliver water to the desired plants. Depending on the irrigation system, filters and pressure regulators can also be important components of your installation.
If you want to water your plants automatically, you can also combine the system with an irrigation controller and solenoid valves. This allows you to control when and how long your irrigation system runs. You can start small, install the system yourself and expand it later with additional trees, beds or irrigation zones.
