Rain Bird pop-up rotor sprinkler 6504-PC-SS-SAM (12 - 20m) part circle

Rain Bird Falcon 6504-PC-SS for demanding turf irrigation

The Rain Bird Falcon 6504-PC-SS is a heavy-duty gear-driven pop-up rotor for large lawns, sports fields, parks and commercial landscapes. It combines an adjustable 40° to 360° watering arc with a durable stainless steel riser and the integrated SAM check valve.

With a radius of approximately 12 to 20 m, the Falcon is designed for large irrigation layouts. The adjustable PC mechanism makes this version particularly useful along boundaries and on irregularly shaped turf where a dedicated 360° full-circle rotor would not provide sufficient flexibility.

Adjustable 40° to 360° watering arc

PC stands for Part Circle. The watering arc can be adjusted from approximately 40° to 360° from the top of the installed rotor using a flat-blade screwdriver.

This allows the same rotor to cover corners, boundaries and large open sections of turf. At 360°, the PC version uses reversing operation, whereas the dedicated Falcon FC model provides continuous full-circle rotation.

Stainless steel riser for increased durability

SS stands for Stainless Steel. The stainless steel riser provides additional protection against mechanical damage and is particularly useful on sports fields, parks, schools and public landscapes.

The irrigation performance remains based on the proven Falcon 6504 platform, while the stainless steel construction provides additional protection in demanding installations.

Eight Rain Curtain nozzles included

This European BSP version is supplied with eight colour-coded Rain Curtain nozzles in sizes 04, 06, 08, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18.

The different nozzle sizes allow flow and irrigation performance to be matched to available water supply, operating pressure, sprinkler spacing and watering arc.

Rain Curtain nozzle technology

Rain Curtain nozzles use three water outlets to distribute water through the close-in, mid-range and long-range areas of the watering pattern. Larger droplets improve wind resistance while effective close-in watering helps prevent dry turf immediately around the rotor.

Integrated SAM check valve

The Falcon 6504 Series includes Rain Bird's Seal-A-Matic check valve as standard. SAM holds approximately 3.1 m of elevation difference and helps prevent water remaining in the lateral pipe from draining through lower sprinkler positions after irrigation stops.

This reduces puddling, erosion and unnecessary water loss on sloping landscapes.

Installation

The European version uses a 1-inch BSP female threaded inlet. A properly sized swing joint or flexible rotor connection is recommended for accurate positioning and height adjustment.

The rotor has an overall body height of approximately 21.6 cm and a pop-up height of approximately 10.2 cm. The top of the retracted sprinkler should be installed approximately level with the finished turf surface.

6504-PC-SS compared with 6504-PC

Both models provide the same adjustable Falcon irrigation concept and integrated SAM check valve. The main difference is the riser. The PC-SS version uses stainless steel for increased mechanical protection, while the standard PC uses a conventional riser.

6504-PC-SS compared with 6504-FC-SS

The PC-SS provides an adjustable 40° to 360° watering arc. The FC-SS is designed specifically for continuous 360° full-circle irrigation. The PC version is therefore the more flexible choice for boundaries and irregularly shaped large turf areas.

Accessories and frequently asked questions

Are the nozzles included?

Yes. This European version is supplied with eight Rain Curtain nozzles in sizes 04, 06, 08, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18.

What does SS mean?

SS stands for Stainless Steel and identifies the stainless steel riser, which provides additional mechanical protection in demanding installations.

Does the Falcon 6504-PC-SS include SAM?

Yes. The integrated Seal-A-Matic check valve holds approximately 3.1 m of elevation difference and helps prevent low-head drainage.

Can the Falcon 6504-PC-SS water a full 360° circle?

Yes. The adjustable arc extends from 40° to 360°. The PC uses reversing operation, while the dedicated FC model provides continuous 360° rotation.

Is this rotor pressure regulated?

No. The Falcon 6504-PC-SS does not include an integrated pressure regulator. Its specified operating pressure range is approximately 2.1 to 6.2 bar.

What installation accessories are recommended?

A suitable 1-inch BSP connection, adequately sized irrigation pipe and a heavy-duty swing joint or flexible rotor connection are recommended. Pipework and valves must also be sized for the relatively high flow requirements of Falcon rotors.
