Tapping saddles for PE pipes

Tapping saddles allow you to create an additional outlet from an existing PE pipe quickly and easily. The saddle is fitted around the pipe at the required position and the pipe is then drilled through the outlet. This means you do not have to cut the main pipe or install an additional tee fitting.

For a reliable connection, choose a tapping saddle that matches the outside diameter of your PE pipe and the required threaded outlet. Depending on the design, an integrated or supplied seal provides a watertight connection between the saddle and pipe. After installation, check the connection for leaks under operating pressure.

Tapping saddles for sprinkler connections

Tapping saddles are particularly useful for connecting pop-up rotors and spray sprinklers. You can create an outlet from the underground PE main line at the required position and then install a suitable sprinkler connection into the threaded outlet of the saddle.

A flexible sprinkler connection can be used between the main pipe and the sprinkler. This makes it easier to position the sprinkler accurately and adjust its installation height. The main PE pipe also does not have to run directly underneath every sprinkler, making the installation of your lawn irrigation system easier.

Installing tapping saddles correctly

Position the tapping saddle at the required point on the PE pipe and make sure that the seal and saddle are seated correctly. Tighten the fasteners evenly according to the manufacturer's instructions. The PE pipe can then be drilled through the outlet using a suitable tool.

Create a clean opening and avoid leaving unnecessary plastic debris inside the pipe. You can then install the required threaded fitting, flexible pipe or another suitable connection. This provides a straightforward way to create an additional outlet in your irrigation system with only a few installation steps.

Expand your irrigation system easily

Tapping saddles are useful for both new irrigation systems and later extensions. If you want to add another pop-up sprinkler or create an additional outlet, an existing PE pipe can be adapted at a suitable position without having to rebuild an entire section of the main line.

When planning the connection, consider the PE pipe diameter, required thread size and the components that will be installed after the saddle. With suitable PE pipes, tapping saddles, flexible pipes and sprinkler connections, you can install many parts of your garden irrigation system yourself and expand it later when required.
