The Rain Bird 5004+PCSAMRSS is one of the most comprehensively equipped versions of the 5000 Plus Series. It combines an adjustable 40° to 360° watering arc with Plus Flow Shut-Off, a SAM check valve, integrated PRS pressure regulation and a durable stainless steel riser.

This combination makes the rotor particularly suitable for demanding residential and commercial lawn irrigation, sloping sites and areas where increased mechanical durability is required.

Green top with Flow Shut-Off

The distinctive green top identifies the Rain Bird 5000 Plus Series. The integrated Flow Shut-Off feature allows the water flow to an individual rotor to be stopped directly at the sprinkler while the remaining rotors in the irrigation zone continue operating.

This makes nozzle changes, adjustment, flushing and troubleshooting much easier without repeatedly returning to the controller or valve manifold.

Stainless steel riser

SS stands for Stainless Steel. Instead of a conventional plastic riser, this version uses a stainless steel sleeve that provides additional mechanical protection.

Rain Bird particularly recommends the stainless steel option for heavily used or public turf areas where additional resistance to external damage and vandalism can be beneficial.

Integrated 3.1 bar PRS pressure regulation

The R in the official 5004+PCSAMRSS model designation identifies the integrated PRS pressure-regulating system. It regulates operating pressure at the rotor to approximately 3.1 bar or 45 psi.

This helps control excessive pressure, reduce misting and fogging and improve consistency between rotors operating on the same lateral line.

SAM check valve for sloping terrain

The integrated Seal-A-Matic check valve holds back approximately 2.1 m of elevation difference. This helps prevent water remaining in the lateral pipe from draining through the lowest rotor after irrigation stops.

Less low-head drainage means reduced puddling, erosion and unnecessary water loss, making this version particularly useful on sloping lawns.

Rain Curtain nozzle technology

Rain Curtain nozzles distribute water evenly throughout the watering radius. Large droplets improve wind resistance while gentle close-in watering helps prevent dry areas immediately around the sprinkler.

Installation

The rotor uses a 3/4-inch female threaded bottom inlet. A swing joint or flexible swing pipe connection is recommended to simplify positioning and accurate height adjustment.

The body height is approximately 18.5 cm and the riser extends approximately 10.2 cm during operation. The top of the retracted sprinkler should be installed approximately level with the finished lawn surface.
