The Rain Bird SBE-075 is a durable 90° elbow designed to connect Rain Bird SPX-FLEX swing pipe to pop-up rotors with a compatible ¾" female threaded inlet. The sprinkler side features a ¾" male thread, while the opposite side has a ½" spiral barb connection for flexible SPX-FLEX swing pipe.

The SBE-075 creates a flexible connection between the underground irrigation pipework and the sprinkler. This means the rotor does not have to be installed rigidly directly above the main pipe connection and can be positioned more easily at the required location and height.

Flexible connection for pop-up rotors

Combined with Rain Bird SPX-FLEX, the SBE-075 can be used to create a flexible swing assembly. This is particularly useful when a rotor needs to be installed offset from the main irrigation pipe or accurately positioned alongside lawns, paths, terraces and other landscape features.

The flexible connection also makes subsequent positioning adjustments easier and can accommodate minor movement and loads more effectively than a completely rigid pipe connection. The SBE-075 is particularly suitable for pop-up rotors with a compatible ¾" female inlet.

¾" male thread to ½" spiral barb

The ¾" male thread screws into the compatible female inlet of the sprinkler. The opposite side features a ½" spiral barb designed for Rain Bird SPX-FLEX swing pipe.

The flexible pipe is pushed and twisted onto the spiral barb. Its aggressive barb lip provides a secure connection. No glue or additional hose clamps are required for the connection between the fitting and SPX-FLEX.

Durable acetal construction

Rain Bird manufactures its SB Series spiral barb fittings from durable acetal material. The fittings are designed for irrigation applications and provide a secure connection between flexible Swing Pipe and the sprinkler.

The SBE-075 is rated for operating pressures up to 5.5 bar and temperatures up to 43 °C, making it suitable for typical automatic garden and lawn irrigation systems.

SBE-075 or SBE-050?

The main difference is the threaded connection. The SBE-075 has a ¾" male thread for compatible sprinklers with a ¾" female inlet, while the SBE-050 has a ½" male thread.

Both versions use a ½" connection for SPX-FLEX swing pipe. This allows the same flexible pipe to be used with different sprinkler connection sizes by selecting the appropriate SB Series elbow.
