Rain Bird SPX-FLEX is an extra-flexible swing pipe designed to connect pop-up spray heads and rotors to underground irrigation pipework. It provides a flexible connection that allows the sprinkler to be positioned independently of the exact location of the main irrigation pipe connection.

The 30 m coil is ideal when installing multiple sprinklers in an automatic garden or lawn irrigation system. The pipe can be cut to the required length and combined with compatible Rain Bird SB Series spiral barb fittings.

Flexible positioning of sprinklers

SPX-FLEX allows a sprinkler to be installed offset from the main irrigation line and makes it easier to position sprinklers accurately alongside lawns, paths, terraces and other landscape features. Its flexibility also makes it easier to accommodate uneven terrain and minor differences in installation height.

The flexible connection provides additional freedom when making final adjustments to the sprinkler position during installation. Compared with a completely rigid pipe connection, this makes accurate sprinkler placement considerably easier.

Extra flexible and kink-resistant

Rain Bird developed SPX-FLEX specifically for flexible sprinkler connections. Its high flexibility allows the pipe to be routed around obstacles and through uneven terrain while its kink-resistant construction supports reliable installation.

The textured surface improves grip and makes the pipe easier to handle, including in wet working conditions. This simplifies cutting, routing and connection to compatible fittings.

Compatible with Rain Bird SB fittings

SPX-FLEX is designed for use with Rain Bird SB Series spiral barb fittings. Compatible fittings include the SBE-050 with a ½" male thread, SBE-075 with a ¾" male thread, SB-CPLG straight coupling and SB-TEE tee connector.

The SB fittings are inserted directly into the flexible pipe using a twisting motion. No glue or additional hose clamps are required for the intended connection, allowing flexible sprinkler connections to be installed quickly with only a few components.

For pop-up spray heads and rotors

SPX-FLEX can be used to create flexible connections for both pop-up spray heads and gear-driven rotors. By selecting the appropriate SB fitting, the same flexible pipe can be combined with different sprinkler inlet sizes.

For compatible sprinklers with a ½" female inlet, the SBE-050 can be used, while the SBE-075 provides a ¾" male connection for compatible rotors. This makes SPX-FLEX a versatile solution for different sprinkler installations.
