The Rain Bird 1804 is a versatile pop-up spray body from the proven Rain Bird 1800 Series and is a popular solution for automatic irrigation of lawns, front gardens, planting beds and other landscaped areas. With a pop-up height of 10.2 cm (4 inches), the 1804 is particularly well suited to typical residential lawn areas and can be used for both new irrigation systems and extensions to existing installations.

During irrigation, water pressure raises the stem approximately 10 cm above the ground. This positions the installed nozzle above the grass and allows water to be distributed across the intended irrigation area. When watering stops, a strong stainless steel return spring reliably retracts the stem into the body. The sprinkler then remains almost completely hidden below ground level and does not interfere with normal garden use or lawn mowing.

The Rain Bird 1804 is supplied without a nozzle, allowing you to select a suitable Rain Bird nozzle according to the size and shape of your lawn. The spray body can be combined with different Rain Bird spray and rotary nozzles. Depending on the nozzle selected, throw distance, watering pattern and water distribution can be adapted to the individual irrigation zone. This makes the 1804 suitable for small and irregularly shaped areas as well as larger lawn sections.

The Rain Bird 1800 Series is designed for reliable and durable operation in automatic irrigation systems. A pressure-activated wiper seal supports smooth stem operation and helps protect the internal mechanism against dirt and debris. The durable plastic body, corrosion-resistant components and strong stainless steel spring are designed for dependable long-term use.

Compatible nozzles for the Rain Bird 1804

The Rain Bird 1804 offers great flexibility when selecting a nozzle. The spray body can be combined with a range of Rain Bird spray and rotary nozzles, including compatible VAN, HE-VAN, U-Series and R-VAN nozzles. The appropriate nozzle depends on the required throw distance, watering pattern and size of the area to be irrigated.

This allows the Rain Bird 1804 to be adapted to many different lawn irrigation applications. The appropriate nozzle is selected separately and is not included with the spray body.

Installation and use

The Rain Bird 1804 is designed for permanent installation in the ground. The top of the sprinkler body should be installed approximately level with the surrounding surface. Connection to the underground irrigation pipe is made through the 1/2-inch female threaded bottom inlet. A suitable flexible pipe or swing joint can be used for a flexible and installation-friendly connection.

The 10.2 cm pop-up height makes the 1804 a versatile solution for typical lawn areas. For very low-cut areas, the more compact Rain Bird 1802 can be used. For taller vegetation or applications requiring greater nozzle clearance, models with a higher pop-up height are available.
