The Rain Bird 1806 is a durable pop-up spray body from the proven Rain Bird 1800 Series. With a pop-up height of 15.2 cm (6 inches), it is particularly suitable for lawns and landscaped areas where greater nozzle clearance is required. The taller stem raises the installed nozzle above the surrounding grass and vegetation, making the 1806 a good choice for taller lawns, ground cover, planting beds and other areas where a shorter pop-up sprinkler may not provide sufficient clearance.

During irrigation, water pressure raises the stem approximately 15 cm above the ground. This positions the installed nozzle above the surrounding vegetation and allows water to be distributed across the intended irrigation area. When watering stops, a strong stainless steel return spring reliably retracts the stem into the body. When not in use, the sprinkler remains discreetly installed below ground level.

The Rain Bird 1806 is supplied without a nozzle, allowing you to select a suitable Rain Bird spray or rotary nozzle according to your irrigation plan. The selected nozzle determines factors such as throw distance, watering pattern and water distribution. This makes the 1806 a flexible solution for different lawn areas, borders and landscaped zones.

The Rain Bird 1800 Series is designed for durable and reliable operation in automatic irrigation systems. Its pressure-activated wiper seal supports reliable stem movement and helps protect the internal mechanism against dirt and debris. The strong stainless steel return spring and durable plastic body are designed for dependable long-term outdoor use.

Another advantage of the Rain Bird 1806 is its flexible connection options. In addition to the 1/2-inch female threaded bottom inlet, the model also features a side inlet. This provides additional flexibility when connecting the sprinkler to an underground irrigation system and can simplify installation in certain situations.

With its 15.2 cm pop-up height, the Rain Bird 1806 sits between the standard 1804 with its 10.2 cm pop-up and the taller 1812 with a 30.5 cm pop-up height. It is an excellent choice when the 1804 does not provide enough clearance but the much taller 1812 is not required.

Compatible nozzles for the Rain Bird 1806

The Rain Bird 1806 can be combined with a variety of Rain Bird spray and rotary nozzles. The appropriate nozzle can be selected according to the required throw distance, watering pattern and size of the irrigation area. This allows the spray body to be adapted to many different lawn and landscape irrigation applications.

The nozzle is sold separately and is not included with the Rain Bird 1806.

Installation and use

The Rain Bird 1806 is designed for permanent installation in the ground, with the top of the sprinkler approximately level with the surrounding surface. The model offers both bottom and side connection options. A suitable flexible pipe or swing joint can be used to provide a flexible connection to the underground irrigation pipe.

The 15.2 cm pop-up height makes the 1806 particularly suitable for taller grass and low vegetation. For standard closely cut lawns, the more compact Rain Bird 1804 may be sufficient. Where substantially greater nozzle clearance is required, the Rain Bird 1812 offers a 30.5 cm pop-up height.
