The Rain Bird SB-CPLG is a straight coupling designed to connect two sections of Rain Bird SPX-FLEX swing pipe. Both sides feature a ½" spiral barb connection onto which the flexible swing pipe is installed with a twisting motion.

The SB-CPLG allows two sections of swing pipe to be connected quickly and easily. It is particularly useful when extending an existing SPX-FLEX pipe or when two separate pipe sections need to be joined while installing a flexible sprinkler connection.

½" connection on both sides

The SB-CPLG features the same ½" spiral barb connection on both ends, creating a straight pipe-to-pipe connection without a threaded fitting. The coupling is specifically designed as part of the Rain Bird SPX-FLEX Swing Pipe system.

The aggressive barb lips provide a secure grip on the flexible pipe. Rain Bird uses an extended barb design on its SB Series fittings to create a reliable connection and reduce the risk of the pipe pulling away from the fitting.

Quick installation without glue

Installation is completed by twisting the coupling into both ends of the SPX-FLEX swing pipe. No glue or additional hose clamps are required for the intended connection, allowing the coupling to be installed quickly without additional connection materials.

The SB-CPLG can be used for new irrigation installations as well as for extending existing SPX-FLEX pipe. Together with the other fittings in the SB Series, it provides a simple way to build flexible connections between irrigation pipework and sprinklers.

Durable acetal construction

Rain Bird manufactures its SB Series fittings from durable acetal material. The material is designed for irrigation applications and provides a secure connection with flexible Swing Pipe.

The SB-CPLG is rated for operating pressures up to 5.5 bar and temperatures up to 43 °C, making it suitable for typical automatic garden and lawn irrigation systems.

Part of the Rain Bird SPX system

The SB-CPLG is part of the Rain Bird SB Series and complements SPX-FLEX swing pipe as well as the elbow, tee and threaded fittings in the range. While the SBE-050 and SBE-075 connect Swing Pipe to a sprinkler, the SB-CPLG is specifically designed as a straight connection between two sections of SPX-FLEX.

This range of fittings allows flexible sprinkler connections to be configured according to the installation conditions and required sprinkler position.
