The Rain Bird 1804-SAM-PRS45 is a high-quality pressure-regulated pop-up spray body from the proven Rain Bird 1800 Series. It combines a 10.2 cm (4-inch) pop-up height with an integrated Seal-A-Matic™ check valve and pressure regulation at 3.1 bar (45 psi). This makes the model particularly suitable for automatic lawn irrigation systems using rotary nozzles as well as systems with elevation changes and high or fluctuating water pressure.

The patented PRS-45 pressure regulator is integrated directly into the stem and maintains the outlet pressure at approximately 3.1 bar (45 psi). Rain Bird recommends this pressure for optimum rotary nozzle performance. This makes the 1804-SAM-PRS45 particularly suitable for Rain Bird R-VAN rotary nozzles. Regulating pressure directly at the spray body helps provide consistent operating conditions even when inlet pressure varies within the irrigation system.

In addition to pressure regulation, the Rain Bird 1804-SAM-PRS45 features an integrated Seal-A-Matic™ check valve. The SAM valve can retain water in lateral pipes with elevation differences of up to 4.2 m (14 feet). When the irrigation zone shuts down, this helps prevent water from draining through sprinklers installed at lower elevations, reducing unnecessary water loss, puddling and erosion.

During irrigation, water pressure raises the stem above the surrounding grass. When watering stops, a strong retract spring reliably returns the stem into the sprinkler body.

The Rain Bird 1804-SAM-PRS45 is supplied without a nozzle, allowing you to select a suitable rotary nozzle according to the required throw distance and watering pattern. Rain Bird R-VAN rotary nozzles are an excellent match because Rain Bird recommends 3.1 bar for optimum rotary nozzle performance. For conventional spray nozzles designed to operate at lower pressure, the 1804-SAM-PRS30 with 2.1 bar pressure regulation is generally the more appropriate choice.
