The Rain Bird SBE-050 is a durable 90° elbow designed to connect Rain Bird SPX-FLEX swing pipe to pop-up spray heads and rotors with a compatible ½" female threaded inlet. One side features a ½" male thread, while the other uses a spiral barb connection designed for flexible SPX-FLEX swing pipe.

The fitting creates a flexible connection between the underground irrigation pipework and the sprinkler. This makes it easier to position the sprinkler at the required location and installation height without having to mount it rigidly directly above the main pipe connection.

The ½" male thread screws into the sprinkler inlet. The opposite side features a ½" spiral barb specifically designed for Swing Pipe. SPX-FLEX is installed by pushing and twisting the flexible pipe onto the barb.

The aggressive barb lip provides a secure connection. No glue or additional hose clamps are required between the SBE-050 and SPX-FLEX, making installation quick and compact.

Durable acetal construction

Rain Bird manufactures its SB Series spiral barb fittings from durable acetal material. The fitting is designed to provide a secure and reliable connection between the flexible Swing Pipe and the sprinkler.

The SBE-050 is rated for operating pressures up to 5.5 bar and temperatures up to 43 °C, making it suitable for typical automatic garden and lawn irrigation applications.

Difference between SBE-050 and SBE-075

The SBE-050 combines a ½" male thread with a ½" Swing Pipe barb. The SBE-075 uses a ¾" male thread while retaining the same ½" barb connection for the flexible pipe.

The correct version therefore primarily depends on the female inlet size of the sprinkler. Use the SBE-050 for compatible ½" sprinkler inlets and the SBE-075 for compatible ¾" sprinkler inlets.
