Rain Bird 11000 for sports fields and large turf
The Rain Bird 11000 is a high-capacity gear-driven pop-up rotor engineered specifically for sports fields, stadiums and very large commercial turf areas. With a radius of approximately 21.3 to 32 m, it provides exceptional coverage and allows large irrigation layouts to be designed with fewer sprinkler positions.
A major advantage of the 11000 is its ability to provide both part-circle and full-circle operation in the same rotor. Part-circle coverage is adjustable from 30° to 345°, while the rotor can also be switched to continuous non-reversing 360° full-circle operation.
Up to 32 metres of true coverage
Depending on nozzle size and operating pressure, the Rain Bird 11000 provides a radius of approximately 21.3 to 32 m. This gives it substantially greater coverage than the Rain Bird 8005 or Falcon 6504.
The long throw makes the 11000 particularly suitable for football pitches, stadiums and large commercial turf where reducing the number of sprinkler positions can simplify the irrigation layout.
Adjustable part-circle and continuous full-circle
In part-circle mode the watering arc can be adjusted from approximately 30° to 345°. This allows the irrigation pattern to follow sidelines, field boundaries and irregularly shaped large turf areas.
The same rotor can also be switched to continuous 360° full-circle operation. Previously selected part-circle edge settings are retained when switching back to part-circle mode.
Designed specifically for sports turf
Rain Bird developed the 11000 Series specifically for sports fields and large commercial turf applications. Its combination of long radius, high flow capacity and small exposed surface makes it particularly suitable for in-field installation.
Using longer-throw rotors can reduce the number of sprinkler positions required within the playing surface compared with smaller rotor platforms.
High-capacity professional performance
The Rain Bird 11000 operates at approximately 4.1 to 6.9 bar. Depending on nozzle and pressure, flow ranges from approximately 4.6 to 12.7 m³/h or 76.5 to 211.6 l/min.
Water supply, pump performance, valves and pipe sizing must therefore be designed specifically for the high flow requirements of this professional rotor.
Six pre-installed nozzle options
The 11000 Series is available with six different pre-installed nozzle sizes: 44, 48, 52, 56, 60 and 64. The selected nozzle determines flow and performance together with the available operating pressure.
The nozzle is installed before delivery, making installation quicker while allowing the correct rotor version to be selected for the hydraulic requirements of the irrigation system.
Integrated SAM check valve
The integrated Seal-A-Matic check valve holds approximately 1.5 m of elevation difference and helps prevent low-head drainage after the irrigation system shuts down.
Installation with 1.5-inch ACME connection
The Rain Bird 11000 uses a 1.5-inch ACME female threaded inlet designed for the high flow requirements of the rotor. A compatible heavy-duty ACME swing joint is recommended for professional installation.
The rotor has an overall height of approximately 32 cm and a pop-up height to the centre of the nozzle of approximately 9.1 cm.
Easy top servicing
The 11000 Series is designed so that required service can be performed from the top of the rotor. The rock screen is also accessible from above, simplifying maintenance on professional sports turf installations.
11000 compared with Rain Bird 8005
The 8005 reaches approximately 24.7 m, while the 11000 extends the maximum radius to approximately 32 m. The 11000 also handles substantially higher flow rates and uses a larger 1.5-inch ACME inlet.
For very large sports fields and stadium applications, the 11000 therefore represents the higher-capacity Rain Bird rotor platform.

Accessories and frequently asked questions
Is a nozzle included?
Yes. The Rain Bird 11000 is supplied with a pre-installed nozzle. Six nozzle options are available: 44, 48, 52, 56, 60 and 64. The nozzle supplied depends on the selected product version.
Are all six nozzles included?
No. Six nozzle configurations are available, but the rotor is supplied with the nozzle corresponding to the selected model already installed.
Can the 11000 operate as both a part-circle and full-circle rotor?
Yes. Part-circle operation is adjustable from 30° to 345°, and the rotor can also be switched to continuous 360° full-circle operation.
Does the 11000 include a SAM check valve?
Yes. The integrated SAM check valve holds approximately 1.5 m of elevation difference and helps prevent low-head drainage.
What installation accessories are recommended?
A compatible 1.5-inch ACME swing joint and adequately sized pipework, valves and pumps are recommended. The high flow requirements of the 11000 must be considered when designing the irrigation system.
What is the difference between the 11000 and 8005?
The 11000 provides a greater maximum radius, substantially higher flow capacity and a larger 1.5-inch ACME connection. It is designed primarily for large sports fields and stadium applications.
