Rain Bird Falcon 6504-FC-SAM for large turf areas

The Rain Bird Falcon 6504-FC is a heavy-duty gear-driven pop-up rotor designed for automatic irrigation of large lawns and turf areas. With a radius of approximately 12 to 20 m, it provides considerably more coverage than smaller residential rotors.

Typical applications include large residential lawns, parks, sports fields, schools, cemeteries and commercial landscapes where long range and reliable performance are required.

Continuous 360° full-circle operation

FC stands for Full Circle. Unlike the Falcon 6504-PC, this version is designed exclusively for continuous 360° watering. It does not reverse at an adjustable arc limit.

This makes the FC version particularly suitable for sprinkler positions located within large open turf areas where complete circular coverage is required.

Three-port Rain Curtain nozzles

The Falcon 6504 uses colour-coded Rain Curtain nozzles with three water outlets. These distribute water across the long-range, mid-range and close-in areas of the watering pattern.

Larger droplets improve resistance to wind, while dedicated close-in watering helps prevent dry turf around the sprinkler. This is particularly important when rotors are installed at larger spacings.

SAM check valve as standard

The Falcon 6504 Series includes Rain Bird's Seal-A-Matic check valve. It holds back approximately 3.1 m of elevation difference, helping prevent water remaining in the lateral pipe from draining through lower sprinklers after irrigation stops.

This reduces puddling, erosion and unnecessary water loss on sloping landscapes.

High flow capability

Depending on nozzle and operating pressure, the Falcon 6504 operates at approximately 0.66 to 4.93 m³/h or 10.8 to 82.2 l/min. Because these flow rates are significantly higher than those of smaller residential rotors, available water flow and dynamic pressure should be checked carefully when designing a zone.

Installation

The Falcon 6504 uses a 1-inch female threaded bottom inlet. NPT and BSP versions are available, so the correct thread version should be selected for the irrigation system.

The rotor has an overall body height of approximately 21.6 cm and a pop-up height of approximately 10.2 cm. The top of the retracted sprinkler should be installed approximately level with the finished turf surface.

Falcon 6504-FC compared with 6504-PC

The FC model provides continuous 360° full-circle watering. The PC version is designed for adjustable part-circle applications. For a sprinkler positioned centrally within a large open lawn, the FC version is normally the appropriate choice.
