Rain Bird 5006+PCSAMRSS with 6-inch stainless steel riser

The Rain Bird 5006+PCSAMRSS is a premium gear-driven pop-up rotor designed for medium to large lawn areas and demanding irrigation systems. It combines an adjustable 40° to 360° watering arc with a 15.2 cm stainless steel riser, Plus Flow Shut-Off, SAM check valve and integrated PRS pressure regulation.

The taller 6-inch riser is the main difference compared with 5004 models. It allows the water stream to rise higher above the turf, making the 5006 particularly useful for taller grass or areas where surrounding vegetation could interfere with a shorter rotor.

6-inch pop-up height

The 5006 extends approximately 15.2 cm during irrigation, compared with approximately 10.2 cm on the 5004. This additional height can improve clearance over taller grass and low vegetation.

The overall body height is approximately 24.5 cm, so sufficient installation depth should be allowed when planning the irrigation system.

Stainless steel riser

SS stands for Stainless Steel. The stainless steel riser provides additional mechanical protection and is particularly useful in heavily used or public turf areas.

Plus Flow Shut-Off

The distinctive green top identifies the Plus version with Flow Shut-Off. An individual rotor can be switched off directly at the sprinkler while the other rotors in the same irrigation zone continue operating.

This makes nozzle changes, adjustment and troubleshooting considerably easier.

3.1 bar PRS pressure regulation

The integrated PRS system regulates pressure at the rotor to approximately 3.1 bar or 45 psi. This helps reduce excessive misting and promotes more consistent sprinkler performance when supply pressure is higher than required.

SAM check valve

The Seal-A-Matic check valve helps prevent low-head drainage by holding approximately 2.1 m of elevation difference. This makes the rotor particularly useful on sloping landscapes.

Rain Curtain nozzles

Rain Curtain nozzles produce larger, wind-resistant droplets while also providing effective close-in watering around the sprinkler. Different nozzle sizes allow flow and radius to be adapted to the irrigation layout.

Installation

The 5006+PCSAMRSS uses a 3/4-inch female threaded bottom inlet. A swing joint or flexible swing pipe connection is recommended for easier positioning and height adjustment.

The top of the retracted rotor should be installed approximately level with the finished lawn surface.
