Automatic irrigation control for 12 zones

The Rain Bird ESP-TM2-12-230V is a powerful irrigation controller designed to operate up to twelve independent watering zones. Its protective enclosure is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation, making it ideal for larger residential gardens and extensive automatic irrigation systems.

Twelve stations allow lawns, flower beds, hedges, vegetable gardens and drip irrigation areas to be controlled separately. Each zone can be programmed according to its individual watering requirements.

Designed for larger irrigation systems

Each station normally controls one 24V AC irrigation valve. Multiple sprinklers can operate downstream of each valve, provided that available water pressure and flow are sufficient for their combined demand.

Simple operation and programming

A backlit LCD, central dial and clearly arranged buttons make programming straightforward. Watering days, start times and station run times can be configured directly at the controller.

Wi-Fi and internet access are not required for automatic operation. Stations and programs can also be operated manually for installation, testing and maintenance.

Three independent programs

The ESP-TM2 provides three programs with up to four start times per program. Station run times can be set from 1 minute to 6 hours.

Watering can be scheduled using selected weekdays, odd or even calendar days or cyclic schedules. Watering can also be delayed for up to 14 days.

Seasonal adjustment

Seasonal adjustment from 5 to 200% allows irrigation duration to be adapted without individually reprogramming all twelve stations.

24V AC irrigation valve control

The controller is designed for conventional 24V AC irrigation valves, including suitable versions of Rain Bird HV, DV, DVF, PGA and PEB valves. Battery-operated 9V DC latching solenoids cannot be connected directly.

230V supply and 24V valve output

The 230V specification refers to the controller's mains power supply. Irrigation valves are controlled using 24V AC. Rain Bird specifies a maximum output of 1A at 24V AC for the outdoor version.

Indoor and outdoor installation

The ESP-TM2-12-230V features a plastic wall-mounted enclosure with a protective door. Rain Bird specifies an IP24 rating. The enclosure measures approximately 20.1 cm wide, 20.0 cm high and 9.0 cm deep.

The TM2I12-230V is the compact indoor-only alternative.

Rain sensor integration

A compatible rain or rain/freeze sensor can be connected directly to the controller. Sensor bypass can be configured individually by station.

Master valve and pump-start support

The ESP-TM2 supports a master valve or pump-start circuit. An irrigation pump requires a suitable external pump-start relay or pump control system.

Wi-Fi upgrade with LNK2

Wi-Fi is not built in. The separately available Rain Bird LNK2 WiFi module plugs into the dedicated accessory port and adds network connectivity without requiring replacement of the controller.

Smartphone and remote control

With the LNK2 installed, supported irrigation functions can be managed from a compatible smartphone. Remote access is available when an internet connection is present.

The LNK2 requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

Continues operating without Wi-Fi

Programs are stored locally in the ESP-TM2. Automatic irrigation therefore continues if Wi-Fi or internet access is temporarily unavailable.

Nonvolatile memory retains the programming, while an internal lithium battery maintains date and time during power outages.

Largest ESP-TM2 model

With twelve stations, the TM2-12-230V is the largest ESP-TM2 model. Its station capacity is fixed and cannot be expanded with additional station modules.

Can the controller be installed outdoors?

Yes. The TM2-12-230V is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation and has an IP24 rating.

What is the difference from the TM2I12-230V?

Both models control twelve zones. The TM2-12-230V uses the larger indoor/outdoor enclosure, while the TM2I12-230V is intended for protected indoor installation only.

Can several sprinklers operate on one zone?

Yes. The available water pressure, flow and combined water demand determine how many sprinklers can operate within one zone.

Does the controller include Wi-Fi?

Will irrigation continue without Wi-Fi?
