Rain Bird 200-PEB 2-inch professional irrigation valve
The Rain Bird 200-PEB is a heavy-duty 24 VAC irrigation valve designed for large professional and commercial irrigation systems. Its 2-inch connection makes it particularly suitable for high-capacity pipework and sprinkler zones requiring substantial water flow.
With a specified flow range of 0.06 to 45 m³/h, operating pressure up to 13.8 bar and integrated adjustable flow control, the 200-PEB is designed for demanding applications such as parks, sports grounds, commercial landscapes and large automatic sprinkler systems.
2-inch connection for high-capacity systems
The 200-PEB is the 2-inch version of the PEB Series. BSP threaded versions are available for international markets, allowing the valve to be integrated into appropriately sized irrigation manifolds and distribution systems.
The larger connection is particularly beneficial at higher flow rates because it can reduce pressure loss compared with smaller valve sizes.
Flow capacity up to 45 m³/h
Rain Bird specifies a flow range of 0.06 to 45 m³/h without the optional PRS-D module, equivalent to approximately 1.2 to 750 l/min.
The larger internal flow path of the 200-PEB becomes particularly relevant at high flow rates. At 30 m³/h, for example, Rain Bird's performance data shows approximately 0.64 bar pressure loss through the 200-PEB compared with approximately 1.14 bar through the smaller 150-PEB.
Adjustable flow control
The 200-PEB includes adjustable flow control, allowing the maximum water flow through the valve to be restricted. This makes it easier to hydraulically balance individual irrigation zones.
Flow control adjusts water quantity and should not be confused with automatic downstream pressure regulation.
Optional PRS-D pressure regulation
The separately available Rain Bird PRS-D pressure-regulating module can be field-installed on the 200-PEB. It provides adjustable downstream pressure regulation in addition to the valve's standard flow-control function.
With PRS-D installed, Rain Bird specifies a flow range of 1.14 to 45 m³/h. The module regulates up to 6.9 bar and adds approximately 5.1 cm to the valve height.
Heavy-duty PEB construction
The PEB Series uses durable glass-filled nylon construction designed for demanding commercial irrigation applications. Stainless steel studs are molded into the valve body so the bonnet can be removed and reinstalled repeatedly during servicing without damaging plastic threads.
The one-piece solenoid design also captures the plunger and spring, helping prevent small components from being lost during field servicing.
Operating pressure up to 13.8 bar
The 200-PEB operates across a pressure range of approximately 1.4 to 13.8 bar. This makes it suitable for irrigation systems operating at considerably higher supply pressures than many conventional residential valves.
Slow closing helps reduce water hammer
The PEB Series is designed to close slowly, helping reduce water hammer and the resulting stress on irrigation pipes, fittings and other system components.
Rain Bird recommends limiting water velocity in the supply line to approximately 2.29 m/s to further reduce the effects of water hammer.
24 VAC automatic control
The standard 200-PEB uses a 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz solenoid for conventional wired irrigation controllers. The normally closed valve opens when the corresponding controller station is activated and closes again when irrigation ends.
Manual operation and servicing
Internal manual bleed allows the valve to be operated without discharging water into the valve box. External manual bleed can be used to flush debris from the system during commissioning or after servicing.
200-PEB compared with 150-PEB
The 150-PEB uses 1½-inch connections, while the 200-PEB uses larger 2-inch connections. Both valves have approximately the same external dimensions and Rain Bird specifies the same maximum flow range.
The primary advantage of the 200-PEB is therefore not a higher stated maximum flow, but lower hydraulic restriction when substantial water volumes are passing through the valve.
200-PEB compared with 200-PESB
The 200-PEB is intended for clean or adequately filtered irrigation water. The 200-PESB adds Rain Bird's scrubber mechanism, which cleans a stainless steel screen and helps prevent clogging caused by grit and plant material.

Installation and accessories
Which fittings are required?
The European BSP version requires suitable 2-inch male threaded fittings or removable unions. Removable connections are particularly useful with a valve of this size because they simplify future servicing and replacement.
Which valve box should be used?
A sufficiently large valve box should be selected to provide easy access to the 2-inch fittings, solenoid, flow-control handle and any optional PRS-D module.
Can pressure regulation be added?
Yes. The optional Rain Bird PRS-D module can be field-installed to provide adjustable downstream pressure regulation.
Frequently asked questions about the Rain Bird 200-PEB
What is the maximum flow of the 200-PEB?
Rain Bird specifies a flow range of up to 45 m³/h without the optional PRS-D module. Actual system design must also take pipe size, water velocity, available pressure and pressure loss into account.
What is the difference between the 150-PEB and 200-PEB?
The 150-PEB uses 1½-inch connections, while the 200-PEB uses larger 2-inch connections. At high flow rates, the larger valve can provide significantly lower pressure loss.
Is the 200-PEB physically larger than the 150-PEB?
Rain Bird specifies approximately the same external dimensions for both models: 20.3 x 15.2 x 15.2 cm.
Does the 200-PEB include flow control?
Yes. Adjustable flow control is standard and allows the maximum water flow to be restricted directly at the valve.
Does the valve include pressure regulation?
No. Pressure regulation is not integrated as standard, but the optional Rain Bird PRS-D module can be installed.
What is the difference between the 200-PEB and 200-PESB?
The 200-PESB adds a scrubber mechanism designed to clean a stainless steel screen and improve reliability when irrigation water contains grit, sand or plant material.
When should I choose the 200-PEB instead of the 150-PEB?
The 200-PEB is particularly useful when the irrigation system uses 2-inch pipework or when lower valve pressure loss is required at high flow rates.
