Rain Bird 075-DV compact irrigation valve

The Rain Bird 075-DV is a compact 24 VAC solenoid valve designed for automatic lawn and garden irrigation systems. With a 3/4-inch female connection and a specified flow range of approximately 0.05 to 5.0 m³/h, it is particularly suitable for small to medium irrigation zones.

The valve can control zones using pop-up sprays, rotors and, with appropriate filtration, landscape drip irrigation. Its compact design also makes it suitable for multi-valve installations where space inside the valve box is limited.

Flow range up to 5.0 m³/h

Rain Bird specifies a flow range of 0.05 to 5.0 m³/h for the 075-DV. This is an important difference from the larger 1-inch 100-DV and 100-DVF models, which can handle flow rates up to approximately 9.08 m³/h.

For flow rates below 0.68 m³/h or Landscape Drip applications, Rain Bird recommends installing a 200-mesh filter upstream of the valve.

24 VAC automatic control

The 075-DV uses a 24 VAC solenoid and is designed for conventional wired irrigation controllers. When the controller activates the corresponding station, the valve opens and supplies water to the irrigation zone.

Durable DV Series construction

The DV Series uses an eccentric balanced-pressure Buna-N diaphragm with a self-cleaning 90-mesh pilot water filter and a captured stainless steel spring. The eccentric diaphragm design provides smoother closing and helps reduce water hammer.

Manual operation and servicing

Internal bleed allows spray-free manual operation directly at the valve. An external bleed function can also be used to flush dirt and debris from the system during installation and start-up.

Installation in a valve box

The valve is normally installed in a suitable underground valve box. The flow direction marked on the valve body must be observed, and the irrigation pipework should be thoroughly flushed before installation.

Suitable removable threaded fittings make future maintenance and replacement easier without requiring major changes to the irrigation manifold.

075-DV compared with 100-DV

The main differences are connection size and flow capacity. The 075-DV uses a 3/4-inch connection and handles up to approximately 5.0 m³/h. The larger 100-DV uses a 1-inch connection and provides substantially higher maximum flow capacity.
