Rain Bird P-33 quick-coupling valve - ¾-inch male inlet - for P-33DK key

Rain Bird P-33 quick-coupling valve for garden water access

The Rain Bird P-33 is a compact plastic quick-coupling valve designed to provide convenient water access from underground irrigation pipework. It is ideal for gardens, lawns and landscaped areas where occasional manual watering or cleaning is required. When used with the separately available Rain Bird P-33DK valve key, it provides a practical connection point for a garden hose.

The P-33 features a 3/4-inch male threaded inlet for connection to a compatible water supply line. Its compact design allows additional water access points to be installed without permanently exposed outdoor taps.

Convenient operation with the Rain Bird P-33DK key

The quick-coupling valve is operated using the matching Rain Bird P-33DK key. The key is inserted into the valve and turned to engage the locking mechanism and open the water flow. Once watering is complete, the key can be turned back and removed, allowing the valve to close.

The P-33DK features a ribbed grip for convenient handling and a 3/4-inch male threaded outlet for suitable hose fittings. Because the key is available separately, several P-33 valves can be installed around a property and operated individually using the same compatible key.

Durable plastic construction with protective cover

The Rain Bird P-33 is manufactured from impact-resistant plastic containing UV inhibitors. Its internal construction includes a Delrin valve cage, a stainless steel spring and an O-ring seal. The two-piece valve body is designed for reliable operation in irrigation installations.

A snap-on protective cover helps prevent soil and debris from entering the coupling area when the valve is not in use. The P-33 measures 13.8 cm in height and has a maximum operating pressure of 6.2 bar according to Rain Bird.

Practical water outlets for lawns and landscaped areas

The Rain Bird P-33 is particularly useful wherever water is needed only occasionally. Typical applications include manual lawn watering, supplementary irrigation of garden beds and cleaning paths, driveways or other outdoor surfaces.

Installation requires a suitable fitting with a 3/4-inch female thread. Ensure that the valve is securely installed, remains accessible and is adequately protected against freezing. When connected to a drinking water supply, an appropriate backflow prevention arrangement must also be provided.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Rain Bird P-33 quick-coupling valve work?

The matching P-33DK key is inserted into the valve and turned to engage the mechanism and open the water flow. Removing the key allows the valve to close.

Is the P-33DK key included?

No. The Rain Bird P-33 is supplied as a quick-coupling valve only. The compatible P-33DK key must be purchased separately.

What thread connection does the P-33 have?

The valve has a 3/4-inch male threaded water inlet. The compatible P-33DK key also features a 3/4-inch male threaded outlet for connecting suitable hose fittings.

What is the maximum operating pressure?

The maximum operating pressure specified by Rain Bird is 6.2 bar.

Can one P-33DK key operate several P-33 valves?

Yes. A single compatible P-33DK key can be used with multiple P-33 quick-coupling valves, one at a time.

Can the P-33 be connected to a drinking water supply?

Connection requires appropriate backflow protection for the installation. The quick-coupling valve itself does not provide the necessary drinking water protection.
