Rain Bird ILCRBY200D high-capacity disc filter 2-inch M thread

High filtration capacity for large irrigation systems

The Rain Bird ILCRBY200D is a high-capacity disc filter designed for large irrigation systems with high water demand. Its 2" connections and particularly large filtration area make it suitable for extensive residential irrigation as well as commercial and municipal irrigation systems.

The filter removes contaminants from irrigation water before they can reach downstream pipes, dripline, drippers, micro-sprays, control valves and other sensitive components. This helps maintain reliable water distribution and reduces maintenance requirements throughout the irrigation system.

130 micron disc filtration for dirty water

The filter element consists of grooved plastic discs providing a filtration rating of 130 micron, corresponding to 120 mesh. Water passes through the compressed disc stack while contaminants are captured within the numerous grooves and filtration paths.

This depth-filtration principle is particularly effective with water containing organic contaminants. Rain Bird therefore recommends disc filtration for dirtier water supplies where a large filtration area and reliable debris retention are required.

Flow rates up to 25 m³/h

The 2" version is designed for particularly high water volumes. Rain Bird specifies a maximum recommended flow rate of up to 25 m³/h for the 2" Large-Capacity series, making the ILCRBY200D suitable for large irrigation zones and appropriately sized main lines.

The disc filter provides a filtration area of approximately 525 cm². Combining a large filtration surface with high flow capacity reduces loading on the filter element and helps extend the intervals between cleaning operations.

Reusable and easy-to-clean filter discs

The disc stack can be removed from the filter housing for maintenance. When released, the individual discs decompress, allowing accumulated debris to be rinsed more easily from the grooves and spaces between the discs.

After cleaning, the filter element can be reassembled and reused. The large filtration capacity and reusable disc stack reduce routine maintenance requirements, making the ILCRBY200D particularly suitable for permanently installed irrigation systems.

2" BSP connections for high-capacity systems

The ILCRBY200D is the international version featuring 2" BSP threads. Male threaded inlet and outlet connections allow integration into appropriately sized irrigation pipelines and distribution systems.

The filter is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 8 bar and water temperatures up to 60 °C. Pressure regulation is not integrated. If downstream irrigation components require reduced or controlled operating pressure, a suitable separate pressure regulator should be installed.

Frequently asked questions about the ILCRBY200D

What is the maximum flow rate of the ILCRBY200D?

Rain Bird specifies a maximum recommended flow rate of up to 25 m³/h for its 2" Large-Capacity filters, making this version suitable for large irrigation zones with high water demand.

What is the filtration rating?

The disc stack provides a filtration rating of 130 micron, corresponding to 120 mesh. Its large filtration area of approximately 525 cm² provides high dirt-holding capacity and helps extend cleaning intervals.

When is a disc filter particularly useful?

Disc filtration is particularly useful with dirtier irrigation water and water containing organic contaminants. Debris is captured within the numerous grooves and filtration paths throughout the disc stack.

Can the filter element be cleaned?

Yes. The disc stack can be removed from the filter housing and decompressed for cleaning. This allows accumulated debris to be rinsed from the grooves and spaces between the individual filter discs before the element is reassembled.

What is the difference between the ILCRBY200D and ILCRBY200S?

Both models feature 2" BSP connections and 130 micron filtration. The ILCRBY200D uses plastic filter discs, while the ILCRBY200S uses a stainless steel screen. The disc filter is particularly suitable for water containing organic contaminants.

Does the ILCRBY200D include a pressure regulator?

No. The ILCRBY200D provides water filtration only. A separate pressure regulator is required when downstream dripline, drippers or other irrigation components need reduced operating pressure.
