Rain Bird ILCRBY100S high-capacity screen filter 1-inch M thread

High filtration capacity for irrigation systems

The Rain Bird ILCRBY100S is a high-capacity screen filter designed for irrigation systems requiring reliable filtration at relatively high water flow rates. Its large filtration surface makes it particularly suitable for larger irrigation zones while helping to extend the intervals between routine cleaning.

The filter can be used in residential garden irrigation as well as commercial and municipal applications. In drip and micro irrigation systems, it helps protect downstream drippers, dripline, micro-sprays and other components from particles carried in the irrigation water.

130 micron stainless steel screen

The removable stainless steel screen provides a filtration rating of 130 micron, corresponding to 120 mesh. Contaminants are captured before they can enter the downstream irrigation zone.

The 1" model provides a filtration surface of 160 cm². The screen can be removed from the housing for maintenance, cleaned and then reinstalled. Its large filtration capacity helps extend cleaning intervals and reduce routine maintenance requirements.

Flow rates up to 6 m³/h

With a maximum water flow rate of up to 6 m³/h, the Rain Bird ILCRBY100S is suitable for irrigation zones with relatively high water demand. The high-capacity design combines effective filtration with low pressure loss within the intended flow range.

The filter is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 8 bar. It does not include pressure regulation. If drippers, dripline or other downstream components require reduced or controlled operating pressure, a suitable separate pressure regulator should be installed.

1" BSP male connections

The ILCRBY100S is the international Rain Bird version with 1" BSP threads. The inlet and outlet use male threaded connections, allowing the filter to be integrated into irrigation systems using corresponding BSP fittings.

The durable housing is designed for water temperatures up to 60 °C. An auxiliary connection with a threaded cap can also be configured for draining or depressurization where required.

Removable and reusable filter screen

The stainless steel screen is designed for repeated use. During maintenance, the filter element can be removed from the housing and rinsed with clean water. Once cleaned, it can be reinstalled without the need for routine replacement of disposable filter cartridges.

Rain Bird recommends installing the filter downstream of a valve or suitable shut-off point so that the housing is not continuously exposed to line pressure. Sufficient clearance should also be provided around the filter to allow easy removal and cleaning of the screen.

Frequently asked questions about the ILCRBY100S

What is the filtration rating of the ILCRBY100S?

The stainless steel screen provides a filtration rating of 130 micron, corresponding to 120 mesh, helping to prevent contaminants from reaching downstream irrigation components.

What is the maximum flow rate?

Rain Bird specifies a maximum flow rate of up to 6 m³/h for the 1" ILCRBY100S, making it suitable for larger irrigation zones.

Can the stainless steel screen be cleaned?

Yes. The filter screen is removable and reusable. It can be rinsed with clean water and reinstalled in the filter housing after cleaning.

Does the ILCRBY100S regulate water pressure?

No. The ILCRBY100S provides water filtration only and does not contain an integrated pressure regulator. A separate pressure regulator should be used when downstream components require controlled operating pressure.

What is the difference between the ILCRBY100S and ILCRBY100D?

The ILCRBY100S uses a stainless steel screen, while the ILCRBY100D uses a disc filter element. Both provide 130 micron filtration but use different filtration technologies.

Where should the filter be installed?

Rain Bird recommends installing the filter downstream of a valve to avoid continuous line pressure. It should also remain accessible so that the screen can be removed easily for inspection and cleaning.
