Pressure-compensating emitter with 45.42 l/h
The Rain Bird PC-12 is a pressure-compensating point-source emitter designed for plants with higher water requirements. With a nominal flow rate of 45.42 l/h per emitter, it is particularly suitable for larger shrubs, trees and other plants that require substantially more water than conventional low-flow drip emitters can provide.
This pack contains 5 PC-12 emitters. The integrated pressure-compensating design provides largely uniform water delivery throughout the specified operating pressure range, allowing several plants within the same micro irrigation zone to be supplied efficiently.
45.42 l/h for larger plants
With a nominal flow rate of 45.42 l/h or 12 GPH, the PC-12 delivers considerably more water than conventional Xeri-Bug drip emitters. It is therefore particularly useful for larger shrubs, trees and applications where a higher volume of water needs to be delivered to a specific irrigation point.
Rain Bird uses color coding to distinguish the different flow rates in the PC range. The PC-12 is dark brown and delivers 45.42 l/h. Other models include the PC-05 with 18.93 l/h, PC-07 with 26.50 l/h, PC-10 with 37.85 l/h, PC-18 with 68.13 l/h and PC-24 with 90.84 l/h.
Pressure-compensating from 0.7 to 3.5 bar
The Rain Bird PC-12 operates within a pressure range of 0.7 to 3.5 bar. Its pressure-compensating design maintains a largely consistent flow rate throughout this range, helping provide uniform water delivery when several emitters are installed along an irrigation line.
Rain Bird specifies required filtration of 150 microns or 100 mesh. Proper filtration protects the small internal water passages against contaminants and helps maintain reliable long-term operation.
Self-piercing barb for easy installation
The PC-12 features a self-piercing barb inlet for direct installation into suitable drip and polyethylene tubing. Rain Bird recommends the XM-TOOL Xeriman installation tool for quick and convenient installation of PC Modules with self-piercing barbs.
The PC-12 has a barb inlet and barb outlet. A ¼" distribution tube can therefore be connected to the outlet to carry the regulated water flow to the required irrigation point.
Use with a diffuser cap as a bubbler
When the PC-12 is used at the end of ¼" distribution tubing or on a PolyFlex riser, Rain Bird recommends using a PC Diffuser Cap. The cap attaches to the outlet of the PC Module and diffuses the outlet stream, creating a bubbler effect and preventing a concentrated jet of water.
This makes the PC-12 a flexible solution for micro irrigation systems where larger plants need a defined volume of water at a specific location. Its robust plastic construction is UV-resistant and designed for long-term outdoor use.

Frequently asked questions about the Rain Bird PC-12
How much water does each PC-12 deliver?
Each Rain Bird PC-12 has a nominal flow rate of 45.42 l/h, equivalent to 12 GPH. The specified flow rate applies to each individual emitter.
Does 45.42 l/h refer to all 5 emitters?
No. Each PC-12 delivers a nominal 45.42 l/h. Five emitters operating simultaneously therefore have a combined nominal flow of 227.1 l/h.
What plants is the PC-12 suitable for?
Rain Bird positions its pressure-compensating PC Modules as medium-flow point-source emitters for larger shrubs and trees. The PC-12 is particularly useful where considerably more water is required than conventional low-flow drip emitters provide.
What does the dark brown color indicate?
Rain Bird uses different colors to identify the flow rates of its PC Modules. Dark brown identifies the PC-12 with a nominal flow rate of 45.42 l/h or 12 GPH.
What operating pressure does the PC-12 require?
The specified operating pressure range is 0.7 to 3.5 bar. Within this range, the pressure-compensating design maintains a largely consistent water output.
How is the PC-12 installed?
The self-piercing barb can be inserted directly into suitable drip or polyethylene tubing. The Rain Bird XM-TOOL Xeriman makes installation particularly quick and convenient.
When is a PC Diffuser Cap required?
When the PC Module is used as the final point of emission, such as at the end of ¼" distribution tubing, Rain Bird recommends a PC Diffuser Cap. It diffuses the outlet stream and creates a bubbler effect.
What filtration does the PC-12 require?
Rain Bird specifies filtration of 150 microns or 100 mesh for the PC-12.
