Pressure-compensating Xeri-Bug emitters with 3.8 l/h
The Rain Bird XB-10PC Xeri-Bug is a compact pressure-compensating drip emitter designed for precise irrigation of individual plants. Each black emitter delivers approximately 3.8 l/h, making it suitable for efficient micro irrigation of flower beds, shrubs, hedges, trees, perennials and container plants.
This pack contains 10 XB-10PC emitters, allowing several plants to be supplied individually. The pressure-compensating design maintains a largely uniform flow rate throughout the specified operating pressure range, helping to provide consistent irrigation when multiple emitters are installed within the same watering zone.
3.8 l/h delivered directly to the root zone
Individual drip emitters deliver water exactly where it is required. Instead of spraying an entire area, each XB-10PC can be assigned to an individual plant. Water is delivered slowly and directly to the root zone, helping to create an efficient and targeted micro irrigation system.
With a nominal flow of 3.79 l/h, normally rounded to 3.8 l/h, the black XB-10PC provides the middle flow rate in the Xeri-Bug range. The blue XB-05PC delivers approximately 1.9 l/h for lower water requirements, while the red XB-20PC delivers approximately 7.6 l/h for plants requiring more water.
Pressure-compensating from 1.0 to 3.5 bar
The XB-10PC operates within a pressure range of 1.0 to 3.5 bar. Its pressure-compensating design provides largely consistent water delivery throughout this range, which is particularly useful with longer distribution lines, multiple emitters and varying distances from the main supply tubing.
Rain Bird uses color coding to identify the different Xeri-Bug flow rates. Black identifies the XB-10PC with 3.8 l/h, blue identifies the XB-05PC with 1.9 l/h and red identifies the XB-20PC with 7.6 l/h.
Easy installation with self-piercing barb
The self-piercing barb inlet allows the XB-10PC to be installed directly into suitable drip and polyethylene tubing. Installation is particularly convenient with the Rain Bird XM-TOOL Xeriman installation tool, which is designed for inserting and removing Xeri-Bug emitters.
A ¼" distribution tube can also be connected to the outlet barb. This allows the emitter to be installed at the main supply tubing while the regulated water flow is carried through micro tubing directly to the plant. Rain Bird XQ-100 and XQ-1000 4/6 mm (¼") distribution tubing are suitable options.
Self-flushing and UV-resistant
The Xeri-Bug emitter features a self-flushing design that supports reliable operation and helps minimise clogging. Its durable plastic housing is UV-resistant and made from robust materials designed for long-term use in micro irrigation systems.
Rain Bird specifies a filtration requirement of 100 microns or 150 mesh for the XB-10PC. Proper filtration protects the small water passages inside the emitter and helps maintain reliable long-term operation.

Frequently asked questions about the XB-10PC
How much water does each XB-10PC deliver?
Each Rain Bird XB-10PC has a nominal flow rate of 3.79 l/h, normally rounded to 3.8 l/h. The corresponding US flow rating is 1.0 GPH.
Does 3.8 l/h refer to all 10 emitters?
No. The 3.8 l/h rating applies to each individual emitter. If all 10 emitters operate simultaneously at their nominal flow rate, their combined water consumption is approximately 38 l/h.
What is the difference between the XB-05PC and XB-10PC?
The main difference is the flow rate. The blue XB-05PC delivers approximately 1.9 l/h, while the black XB-10PC delivers approximately 3.8 l/h. The XB-10PC is therefore suitable where a higher water output per plant is required.
What does pressure-compensating mean?
Pressure compensation helps each emitter maintain a largely consistent flow rate throughout its specified operating pressure range. This improves watering uniformity when several emitters are installed within the same irrigation zone.
What does the black color indicate?
The color identifies the flow rate. Black represents the XB-10PC with approximately 3.8 l/h, blue represents 1.9 l/h and red represents 7.6 l/h.
Can 4/6 mm micro tubing be connected?
Yes. The outlet barb securely retains ¼" distribution tubing, allowing Rain Bird XQ 4/6 mm micro tubing to carry the regulated water flow directly to the plant.
How is the XB-10PC installed?
The self-piercing barb can be inserted directly into suitable drip or polyethylene tubing. The Rain Bird XM-TOOL Xeriman installation tool makes installation and removal particularly convenient.
What filtration does the XB-10PC require?
Rain Bird specifies filtration of 100 microns or 150 mesh for the XB-10PC.
