Pressure-compensating Xeri-Bug emitters with 7.6 l/h
The Rain Bird XB-20PC Xeri-Bug is a pressure-compensating drip emitter designed for precise irrigation of plants with higher water requirements. Each red emitter delivers approximately 7.6 l/h, making it suitable for micro irrigation of shrubs, hedges, trees, larger perennials, container plants and other individual plants.
This pack contains 10 XB-20PC emitters, allowing several plants to be supplied individually. The integrated pressure-compensating design maintains a largely uniform flow rate throughout the specified operating pressure range and is particularly useful when multiple emitters are installed within the same irrigation zone.
7.6 l/h for plants with higher water requirements
Individual drip emitters deliver water directly to the required root zone. This allows the water supply to be tailored to individual plants instead of irrigating an entire area, helping to create an efficient and targeted micro irrigation system.
With a nominal flow rate of 7.57 l/h, normally rounded to 7.6 l/h, the XB-20PC provides the highest flow rate of the three classic Xeri-Bug PC emitters. The blue XB-05PC delivers 1.9 l/h, the black XB-10PC 3.8 l/h and the red XB-20PC 7.6 l/h.
Pressure-compensating from 1.0 to 3.5 bar
The Rain Bird XB-20PC operates within a pressure range of 1.0 to 3.5 bar. Its pressure-compensating design provides largely consistent water delivery throughout this range, helping to achieve uniform irrigation when several emitters are installed at different distances from the main supply tubing.
Rain Bird uses color coding to identify the different Xeri-Bug flow rates. Red identifies the XB-20PC with 7.6 l/h, black identifies the XB-10PC with 3.8 l/h and blue identifies the XB-05PC with 1.9 l/h.
Easy installation with self-piercing barb
The self-piercing barb inlet allows the XB-20PC to be installed directly into suitable drip and polyethylene tubing. Installation is particularly convenient with the Rain Bird XM-TOOL Xeriman installation tool, which is designed for inserting Xeri-Bug emitters.
A ¼" distribution tube can be connected to the outlet barb. This allows the regulated water flow to be carried through micro tubing directly to the required watering point. Rain Bird XQ-100 and XQ-1000 4/6 mm (¼") distribution tubing are suitable options for this application.
Self-flushing and UV-resistant
The Xeri-Bug emitter features a self-flushing design that supports reliable operation and helps minimise clogging. Its durable plastic housing is UV-resistant and made from robust materials designed for long-term use in irrigation systems.
Rain Bird specifies required filtration of 75 to 100 microns or 150 to 200 mesh for the Xeri-Bug range. Proper filtration helps protect the small internal water passages and supports reliable long-term operation.

Frequently asked questions about the XB-20PC
How much water does each XB-20PC deliver?
Each Rain Bird XB-20PC has a nominal flow rate of 7.57 l/h, normally rounded to 7.6 l/h. The corresponding US flow rating is 2.0 GPH.
Does 7.6 l/h refer to all 10 emitters?
No. The 7.6 l/h rating applies to each individual emitter. If all 10 emitters operate simultaneously at their nominal flow rate, their combined water consumption is approximately 75.7 l/h.
What is the difference between XB-05PC, XB-10PC and XB-20PC?
The main difference is the flow rate. The blue XB-05PC delivers approximately 1.9 l/h, the black XB-10PC approximately 3.8 l/h and the red XB-20PC approximately 7.6 l/h. This allows the emitter to be selected according to the water requirements of each plant.
What does pressure-compensating mean?
Pressure compensation helps the emitter maintain a largely consistent flow rate throughout its specified operating pressure range, improving watering uniformity when several emitters are installed within the same irrigation zone.
What does the red color indicate?
The color identifies the flow rate. Red represents the XB-20PC with approximately 7.6 l/h, black represents 3.8 l/h and blue represents 1.9 l/h.
Can 4/6 mm micro tubing be connected?
Yes. The outlet is designed to retain ¼" distribution tubing. Rain Bird XQ 4/6 mm micro tubing can therefore be used to carry the regulated water flow directly to the plant's root zone.
How is the XB-20PC installed?
The self-piercing barb can be inserted directly into suitable drip or polyethylene tubing. The Rain Bird XM-TOOL Xeriman installation tool makes installation particularly quick and convenient.
