Pressure-compensating Xeri-Bug emitters with 1.9 l/h
The Rain Bird XB-05PC Xeri-Bug is a compact pressure-compensating drip emitter designed for precise irrigation of individual plants. Each blue emitter delivers approximately 1.9 l/h, making it particularly suitable for plants with low to moderate water requirements and for efficient micro irrigation of flower beds, shrubs, hedges, trees and container plants.
This pack contains 10 XB-05PC emitters, allowing several plants to be supplied individually. The pressure-compensating design maintains a largely uniform flow rate throughout the specified operating pressure range, helping to provide consistent irrigation when multiple emitters are installed within the same watering zone.
Precise watering directly at the roots
Individual drip emitters deliver water exactly where it is required. Instead of spraying an entire area, each XB-05PC can be assigned to an individual plant and positioned close to its root zone. This reduces unnecessary water loss and provides efficient, targeted micro irrigation.
With a nominal flow of 1.89 l/h, normally rounded to 1.9 l/h, the blue version provides the lowest flow rate in the Xeri-Bug range. Rain Bird also offers Xeri-Bug emitters with higher flow rates for plants with greater water requirements.
Pressure-compensating from 1.0 to 3.5 bar
The XB-05PC operates within a pressure range of 1.0 to 3.5 bar. Its pressure-compensating design provides consistent water delivery throughout this range, which is particularly useful with longer distribution lines or multiple emitters installed within the same irrigation zone.
Rain Bird uses color coding to identify the different Xeri-Bug flow rates. Blue identifies the XB-05PC with approximately 1.9 l/h, black identifies the XB-10PC with approximately 3.8 l/h and red identifies the XB-20PC with approximately 7.6 l/h.
Easy installation with barb inlet
The barb inlet allows the XB-05PC to be installed directly into suitable drip and polyethylene tubing. Installation is particularly convenient with the Rain Bird XM-TOOL Xeriman installation tool, which is designed for installing Xeri-Bug emitters and other Rain Bird micro irrigation components.
A ¼" distribution tube can also be connected to the outlet. This allows the emitter to be installed at the main supply tubing while the regulated water flow is carried through micro tubing directly to the plant. Rain Bird XQ-100 and XQ-1000 4/6 mm (¼") distribution tubing are suitable options.
Self-flushing and UV-resistant
The Xeri-Bug emitter features a self-flushing design that supports reliable operation and helps reduce the risk of deposits inside the emitter. Its durable, UV-resistant plastic construction is designed for long-term outdoor use in micro irrigation systems.
Rain Bird specifies a filtration requirement of 75 microns or 200 mesh for the XB-05PC. Proper filtration is particularly important with low-flow drip emitters and helps support reliable long-term operation.

Frequently asked questions about the XB-05PC
How much water does each XB-05PC deliver?
Each Rain Bird XB-05PC has a nominal flow rate of 1.89 l/h, normally rounded to 1.9 l/h. The corresponding US flow rating is 0.5 GPH.
Does 1.9 l/h refer to all 10 emitters?
No. The 1.9 l/h rating applies to each individual emitter. If all 10 emitters operate simultaneously at their nominal flow rate, their combined water consumption is approximately 19 l/h.
What does pressure-compensating mean?
Pressure compensation helps each emitter maintain a largely consistent flow rate throughout its specified operating pressure range. This improves watering uniformity when several emitters are installed within the same irrigation zone.
What operating pressure is required?
Rain Bird specifies an operating pressure range of 1.0 to 3.5 bar for Xeri-Bug emitters.
What does the blue color indicate?
The color identifies the flow rate. Blue represents the XB-05PC with approximately 1.9 l/h, black represents the XB-10PC with approximately 3.8 l/h and red represents the XB-20PC with approximately 7.6 l/h.
Can micro tubing be connected?
Yes. ¼" distribution tubing can be connected to the outlet, allowing the regulated water flow to be carried directly to the plant's root zone.
Is Rain Bird XQ micro tubing compatible?
Yes. Rain Bird XQ-100 and XQ-1000 4/6 mm (¼") distribution tubing can be used with Xeri-Bug emitters in a micro irrigation system.
How are the emitters installed?
The barb inlet can be inserted directly into suitable drip or polyethylene tubing. The Rain Bird XM-TOOL Xeriman installation tool makes installation particularly quick and convenient.
