Xeri-Bug emitter with integrated check valve
The Rain Bird XBCV-20PC Xeri-Bug is a pressure-compensating point-source emitter with an integrated check valve for controlled micro irrigation. With a nominal flow rate of 7.57 l/h or approximately 7.6 l/h, it is particularly suitable for plants with higher water requirements, larger shrubs, trees, groups of plants and containers.
This pack contains 10 red XBCV-20PC emitters. Compared with the standard XB-20PC, the XBCV-20PC additionally incorporates a check valve. This retains water in the irrigation line after the system is switched off and helps reduce unwanted drainage from emitters located at lower elevations.
Holds back up to 3 m of water
The integrated check valve has a hold-back pressure of approximately 0.3 bar and can retain a water column of up to 3 m. This makes the XBCV-20PC particularly suitable for slopes, raised beds, elevated planting areas and irrigation systems with changes in elevation.
Without a check valve, water remaining in the distribution line can continue to drain through emitters at the lowest points after irrigation stops. The XBCV-20PC reduces this low-point drainage while retaining more water within the irrigation line for the next watering cycle.
Pressure-compensating flow of 7.6 l/h
The XBCV-20PC is pressure-compensating and provides largely consistent water delivery throughout its specified operating pressure range. Its exact nominal flow rate is 7.57 l/h or 2.0 GPH, conveniently rounded to 7.6 l/h in the product name.
Red color coding identifies this flow variant within the Xeri-Bug range. Its higher water output makes the XBCV-20PC particularly suitable for plants that require more water than the smaller 1.9 or 3.8 l/h Xeri-Bug variants can provide.
Easy installation in distribution tubing
The XBCV-20PC features a self-piercing barb inlet for installation directly into suitable drip or PE distribution tubing. The Rain Bird XM-TOOL Xeriman can be used for quick and convenient installation.
¼" distribution tubing can be connected to the outlet. Rain Bird XQ 4/6 mm micro tubing can therefore carry the regulated water flow directly from the emitter to the required root zone.
Self-flushing and durable
The self-flushing design supports reliable operation and helps reduce deposits inside the emitter. Suitable filtration of the irrigation water remains important, particularly in micro irrigation systems with small flow passages.
The durable plastic construction is designed for long-term irrigation applications. The combination of pressure compensation, an integrated check valve and a defined flow rate makes the XBCV-20PC particularly useful for demanding point-source irrigation and installations with elevation changes.

Frequently asked questions about the XBCV-20PC
What is the difference between the XB-20PC and XBCV-20PC?
Both are red pressure-compensating Xeri-Bug emitters with a nominal flow rate of 7.57 l/h. The XBCV-20PC additionally incorporates a check valve capable of holding back a water column of up to 3 m.
When is an integrated check valve useful?
It is particularly useful on slopes and other irrigation systems with elevation changes. The check valve helps reduce drainage through emitters located at the lowest points after irrigation stops.
How much water does each XBCV-20PC deliver?
Each emitter has a nominal flow rate of 7.57 l/h or 2.0 GPH. Ten emitters operating simultaneously therefore have a combined nominal flow of 75.7 l/h.
Which XBCV flow rate should I choose?
The blue XBCV-05PC delivers approximately 1.9 l/h, the black XBCV-10PC approximately 3.8 l/h and the red XBCV-20PC approximately 7.6 l/h. The appropriate version depends on the plant's water requirements, soil conditions, location and irrigation duration.
How much elevation can the check valve hold back?
The integrated check valve has a hold-back pressure of approximately 0.3 bar and can retain a water column of up to 3 m.
Can micro tubing be connected?
Yes. The outlet accepts ¼" distribution tubing, including Rain Bird XQ 4/6 mm micro tubing.
How is the XBCV-20PC installed?
The self-piercing barb is inserted directly into suitable drip or PE distribution tubing. The Rain Bird XM-TOOL Xeriman can be used for convenient installation.
