Rain Bird PTC1 tool for pulling up spray heads

Rain Bird PTC1 spray head pull-up tool

The Rain Bird PTC1 spray head pull-up tool makes it easy to lift and hold the stem of a pop-up spray sprinkler during maintenance. It is particularly useful when replacing spray nozzles, cleaning nozzle filters or installing new irrigation nozzles. The tool prevents the sprinkler stem from retracting into the body while you are working, making routine maintenance much easier.

The specially designed tool is suitable for a wide range of pop-up spray sprinklers, including the Rain Bird 1800 series. It allows you to perform maintenance directly on an installed sprinkler without digging up or removing the entire sprinkler body. This saves time and makes it easier to maintain your garden irrigation system.

Pull up and securely hold the sprinkler stem

The Rain Bird PTC1 features specially shaped gripping tips that allow you to lift the sprinkler stem out of its housing. Once extended, the tool can be positioned around the stem to hold it in place. Its gripping mechanism prevents the internal return spring from pulling the stem back into the sprinkler body while you are working.

This leaves both hands free to unscrew an existing nozzle, clean the filter screen or install a replacement nozzle. The tool is particularly useful when working with Rain Bird VAN, HE-VAN and R-VAN nozzles. It also makes routine inspection and cleaning of pop-up spray sprinklers more convenient.

Durable steel tool with comfortable handles

The Rain Bird PTC1 is manufactured from corrosion-resistant steel and is designed for repeated use during sprinkler maintenance. Its vinyl-coated handles provide a comfortable grip and allow controlled operation. An adjustable screw makes it possible to change the jaw opening to accommodate different sprinkler stem sizes.

Its sturdy construction makes the tool suitable for homeowners as well as professional landscape maintenance teams. The compact design allows convenient storage alongside other irrigation installation and maintenance tools. It is a useful accessory for anyone who regularly services automatic irrigation systems.

Ideal for nozzle replacement and sprinkler maintenance

The Rain Bird PTC1 allows you to replace spray nozzles without removing the complete sprinkler body. This is particularly helpful when modifying the watering pattern of a lawn, such as replacing a conventional spray nozzle with a water-efficient rotary nozzle. The tool also simplifies maintenance when nozzle filters become clogged or spray nozzles need replacement.

According to Rain Bird, the PTC1 works with pop-up spray sprinklers from several manufacturers, including Rain Bird, Hunter and Toro. Compatibility depends on the stem design and dimensions. For larger gear-driven rotors, use the appropriate rotor adjustment and pull-up tool instead.
