Smart outdoor Wi-Fi controller for eight zones

The Rain Bird RC2-230V is a smart irrigation controller for up to eight independent irrigation zones. Its weather-resistant enclosure is designed for outdoor installation, while built-in Wi-Fi eliminates the need for a separate LNK2 WiFi module.

Eight stations make it easy to divide lawns, planting areas, hedges and drip irrigation into separate watering circuits with individual schedules.

Control with the Rain Bird 2.0 App

The RC2-230V uses the Rain Bird 2.0 App for setup, programming and remote control. Using a compatible iOS or Android device, you can create watering schedules, manually operate individual zones and manage supported irrigation functions remotely when an internet connection is available.

Built-in Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi connectivity is integrated directly into the controller. No separate Rain Bird LNK2 WiFi module is required. The RC2 connects to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and also provides direct hotspot access for local setup.

Automatic irrigation does not depend on a permanent internet connection. Stored programs remain in the controller and continue to operate locally if internet access is interrupted.

Eight independent irrigation zones

Each of the eight stations normally controls one 24V AC irrigation valve. Multiple sprinklers, spray heads or drip irrigation components can operate downstream of each valve, provided sufficient water pressure and flow are available.

Three programs and up to twelve start times

The RC2 provides three independent programs with four start times per program. Station run times range from 1 minute to 6 hours.

Watering schedules can use selected weekdays, odd or even calendar days or cyclic intervals from 1 to 30 days.

Weather-responsive irrigation

When connected to Wi-Fi, the RC2 can use weather information to support automatic watering adjustments and delays for conditions such as rain, freezing temperatures or wind.

Cycle and Soak and seasonal adjustment

Cycle and Soak can divide longer irrigation periods into shorter watering and soaking cycles. Seasonal adjustment also allows watering duration to be adapted to changing seasonal requirements without rebuilding the complete irrigation schedule.

Designed for 24V AC irrigation valves

The RC2-230V controls conventional 24V AC irrigation valves, including suitable 24V versions of Rain Bird HV, DV, DVF, PGA and PEB valves. Battery-operated 9V DC latching solenoids cannot be connected directly.

230V supply and 24V valve control

The international outdoor model operates from a 230V AC supply and provides 24V AC control for irrigation valves. Rain Bird specifies a maximum output of 1.0A at 24V AC for the outdoor model.

Rain sensor and pump-start support

A rain sensor input is provided, and compatible Rain Bird accessories include RSD-BEx and WR2 series sensors. A master valve or irrigation pump can also be integrated, with a suitable external pump-start relay required for a pump.

Weather-resistant outdoor enclosure

Unlike the compact RC2I indoor models, the RC2-230V uses a larger weather-resistant enclosure with a protective door. The outdoor model is rated IP24 and measures approximately 20.1 cm wide, 20.0 cm high and 9.0 cm deep.
