Smart irrigation control for eight zones

The Rain Bird RC2I8-230V is a smart irrigation controller for eight independent irrigation zones. Designed specifically for protected indoor installation, it combines reliable automatic irrigation control with built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. No separate LNK2 WiFi module is required.

Control with the Rain Bird 2.0 App

The RC2I8-230V is set up and controlled using the Rain Bird 2.0 App for compatible iOS and Android devices. The app allows you to create and adjust irrigation schedules, manually operate individual zones and remotely access supported controller functions when an internet connection is available.

Built-in Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi connectivity is integrated directly into the RC2. The controller supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi using IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. Bluetooth Low Energy and a direct hotspot connection are also available for convenient local setup and access.

Eight independent irrigation zones

Each of the eight stations normally controls one 24V AC irrigation valve. Multiple sprinklers or drip irrigation components can operate downstream of each valve, provided sufficient water pressure and flow are available.

Three programs and twelve start times

The RC2 provides three independent programs with up to four start times per program. Station run times range from 1 minute to 6 hours, with custom weekdays, odd/even days and cyclic schedules from 1 to 30 days available.

Advanced irrigation functions

Features available through the Rain Bird 2.0 App include Cycle+Soak, seasonal adjustment and weather-responsive irrigation functions. Watering can also be delayed for up to 14 days.

Designed for 24V AC irrigation valves

The RC2I8-230V controls conventional 24V AC irrigation valves. Suitable examples include appropriate 24V versions of Rain Bird HV, DV, DVF, PGA and PEB valves. Battery-operated 9V DC latching solenoids cannot be connected directly.

Rain sensor and pump-start support

A rain sensor input with bypass capability is provided. The controller also supports a master valve or pump-start circuit. An irrigation pump requires a suitable external pump-start relay or pump control system.

Permanent program memory

Nonvolatile memory retains the irrigation programming during a power interruption, allowing stored watering schedules to remain available.

Compact indoor enclosure

The RC2I8-230V is designed exclusively for protected indoor installation. Its compact enclosure measures approximately 16.7 cm wide, 16.8 cm high and only 4.0 cm deep.
