Rain Bird U-15H dual-orifice spray nozzle - 180° half-circle - 3.4 to 4.6 m radius

Rain Bird U-15H dual-orifice nozzle for wider lawn edges

The Rain Bird U-15H is a high-efficiency dual-orifice spray nozzle with a fixed 180° half-circle spray pattern and a radius of 3.4 to 4.6 m. It is designed for automatic irrigation of wider lawn areas along straight property boundaries, garden paths and patios. Its semicircular spray pattern directs water to one side of the sprinkler, making it particularly useful where grass borders paved or landscaped areas.

As part of the Rain Bird U-Series, the U-15H features two separate spray openings. The main opening distributes water toward the outer edge of the watering area, while the additional opening provides close-in coverage around the sprinkler head. This design supports more uniform irrigation across the entire half-circle spray pattern.

180° half-circle coverage with up to 4.6 m radius

The fixed 180° spray angle makes the Rain Bird U-15H suitable for sprinklers installed along straight lawn edges. It helps direct water onto the intended grass area, especially where lawns are bordered by patios, walls, walkways or flower beds. The half-circle pattern provides controlled coverage without requiring arc adjustment.

The spray radius ranges from 3.4 to 4.6 m depending on operating pressure. At the optimum pressure of 2.1 bar, the nozzle achieves approximately 4.6 m. Its 23° spray trajectory supports water distribution over the longer distance. The integrated stainless steel adjustment screw allows the radius to be reduced when necessary.

Dual-orifice technology for improved close-in watering

The distinguishing feature of the Rain Bird U-15H is its dual-orifice design. Conventional spray nozzles may deliver less water immediately around the sprinkler head. The additional opening of the U-15H addresses this by directing water into the close-in area, helping reduce dry patches near the spray body.

Improved close-in coverage supports more consistent watering along lawn borders. Combined with correct sprinkler spacing and operating pressure, the U-15H helps achieve efficient irrigation. A well-designed system also reduces the need to compensate for uneven watering by unnecessarily extending irrigation times.

Easy installation and combination with other U15 nozzles

The Rain Bird U-15H is compatible with Rain Bird spray bodies and suitable shrub adapters, including models from the Rain Bird 1800 Series. A fine mesh filter screen helps protect the lower spray opening from debris. For installations with higher water pressure, pressure-regulated spray bodies help maintain consistent nozzle performance.

When planning your irrigation system, the U-15H can be combined with suitable U-15Q quarter-circle and U-15F full-circle nozzles. Consider their different flow rates and ensure sufficient overlap between adjacent spray patterns to achieve uniform lawn coverage.

Frequently asked questions about the Rain Bird U-15H

What is the spray radius of the Rain Bird U-15H?

The spray radius ranges from 3.4 to 4.6 m depending on operating pressure. At 2.1 bar, the nozzle reaches approximately 4.6 m.

Can the 180° spray angle be adjusted?

No. The U-15H has a fixed half-circle spray pattern. However, the radius can be reduced using the integrated stainless steel adjustment screw.

Why does the nozzle have two spray openings?

The additional opening distributes water close to the sprinkler head, helping improve watering uniformity and reduce dry patches around the spray body.

Which sprinkler bodies are compatible?

The Rain Bird U-15H is compatible with Rain Bird spray bodies and suitable shrub adapters, including models from the Rain Bird 1800 Series.

Can the U-15H be combined with other U15 nozzles?

Yes. The U-15H can be combined with suitable U-15Q quarter-circle and U-15F full-circle nozzles. Their different flow rates must be considered when designing the irrigation zone.
