Rain Bird U-15Q dual-orifice spray nozzle - 90° quarter-circle - 3.4 to 4.6 m radius

Rain Bird U-15Q dual-orifice nozzle for larger lawn corners

The Rain Bird U-15Q is a high-efficiency dual-orifice spray nozzle with a fixed 90° quarter-circle spray pattern and a radius of 3.4 to 4.6 m. It is particularly suitable for automatic irrigation of larger lawn corners and right-angled landscaped areas. Its extended reach makes it a practical choice where shorter-radius spray nozzles cannot adequately cover the intended watering area.

As part of the Rain Bird U-Series, the U-15Q features two separate spray openings. The main opening distributes water toward the outer edge of the spray pattern, while the additional opening provides close-in watering around the sprinkler head. Together, they help achieve more uniform coverage across the quarter-circle area.

90° quarter-circle coverage with up to 4.6 m radius

The fixed 90° spray pattern makes the Rain Bird U-15Q particularly suitable for sprinklers installed in lawn corners. It helps direct water onto the intended grass area, especially where lawns are bordered by paths, patios, walls or garden beds. The quarter-circle pattern is designed for precise corner coverage without the need to adjust the spray angle.

The spray radius ranges from 3.4 to 4.6 m depending on operating pressure. At the recommended pressure of 2.1 bar, the nozzle reaches approximately 4.6 m. Its 23° spray trajectory supports water distribution over the longer distance. An integrated stainless steel adjustment screw allows the radius to be reduced when necessary.

Dual-orifice technology for uniform close-in watering

The distinguishing feature of the Rain Bird U-15Q is its dual-orifice design. Conventional spray nozzles may provide less water immediately around the sprinkler head. The additional opening of the U-15Q addresses this by delivering water into the close-in area, helping reduce dry patches near the spray body.

Improved watering uniformity supports more efficient lawn irrigation. According to Rain Bird, U-Series nozzles can reduce water consumption by up to 30% compared with conventional spray nozzles under suitable installation conditions. Actual savings depend on sprinkler spacing, operating pressure and watering schedules.

Easy installation on Rain Bird spray bodies

The Rain Bird U-15Q is designed for compatible Rain Bird spray bodies and suitable shrub adapters, including models from the Rain Bird 1800 Series. A fine mesh filter screen helps protect the lower spray opening from debris. For installations with higher water pressure, pressure-regulated spray bodies can help maintain consistent nozzle performance.

When planning your irrigation system, the U-15Q can be combined with suitable U-15H half-circle and U-15F full-circle nozzles. Consider their different flow rates and position sprinklers with adequate overlap to ensure uniform coverage across the entire lawn.

Frequently asked questions about the Rain Bird U-15Q

What is the spray radius of the Rain Bird U-15Q?

The spray radius ranges from 3.4 to 4.6 m depending on operating pressure. At the recommended pressure of 2.1 bar, the nozzle reaches approximately 4.6 m.

Can the 90° spray angle be adjusted?

No. The U-15Q has a fixed quarter-circle spray pattern. However, the radius can be reduced using the integrated stainless steel adjustment screw.

How much water does the U-15Q use?

The flow rate ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 l/min, equivalent to approximately 150 to 210 litres per hour, depending on operating pressure.

Why does the nozzle have two spray openings?

The additional opening distributes water close to the sprinkler head, helping improve watering uniformity and reduce dry patches around the spray body.

Which sprinkler bodies are compatible?

The Rain Bird U-15Q is compatible with Rain Bird spray bodies and suitable shrub adapters, including models from the Rain Bird 1800 Series.

Can the U-15Q be combined with other U15 nozzles?

Yes. The U-15Q can be combined with suitable U-15H half-circle and U-15F full-circle nozzles. Their different flow rates should be considered when designing the irrigation zone.
