Rain Bird MPR-5F spray nozzle - 360° full-circle - 1.1 to 1.5 m radius

Rain Bird MPR-5F spray nozzle for small lawns

The Rain Bird MPR-5F is a fixed-pattern spray nozzle with a 360° full-circle spray pattern and a radius of 1.1 to 1.5 m. It is particularly suitable for automatic irrigation of small, continuous lawn areas and compact landscaped spaces. Its short spray radius makes it a practical choice for sprinklers positioned within smaller lawns where water needs to be distributed evenly in every direction.

The MPR-5F belongs to the Rain Bird MPR Series, which features matched precipitation rates for coordinated water distribution. Its circular spray pattern waters the entire area surrounding the sprinkler head. This makes it particularly useful for central sprinkler positions where quarter-circle or half-circle nozzles would not provide the required coverage.

360° full-circle coverage with a short spray radius

The fixed 360° spray angle allows the Rain Bird MPR-5F to distribute water all around the sprinkler. It is ideal for small lawn islands, compact grass areas and sprinkler positions within a lawn. Its limited radius helps provide targeted watering without using a nozzle designed for much greater distances.

The spray radius ranges from 1.1 to 1.5 m depending on operating pressure. At the optimum pressure of 2.1 bar, the nozzle reaches approximately 1.5 m. Its low 5° spray trajectory keeps the water stream close to the ground. The integrated stainless steel adjustment screw allows the radius to be reduced when necessary.

Matched precipitation rates for balanced irrigation

MPR stands for Matched Precipitation Rate. Rain Bird MPR nozzles are designed with coordinated precipitation rates across different spray patterns. This makes it easier to combine quarter-circle, half-circle and full-circle nozzles in a properly designed irrigation system while maintaining consistent water application.

The Rain Bird MPR-5F has a flow rate of approximately 1.1 to 1.6 l/min depending on operating pressure. At 2.1 bar, this corresponds to about 96 litres per hour when calculated from the rounded metric flow rate. Since the full-circle nozzle covers a larger area than the corresponding quarter-circle and half-circle models, it requires a higher flow rate. This should be considered when planning your irrigation zone.

Easy installation on Rain Bird spray bodies

The Rain Bird MPR-5F fits compatible Rain Bird spray bodies and suitable shrub adapters, including models from the Rain Bird 1800 Series. A blue fine-mesh filter screen helps prevent debris from entering the nozzle. The stainless steel adjustment screw allows convenient radius adjustment during installation.

For compact lawn irrigation systems, the MPR-5F can be combined with suitable MPR-5Q quarter-circle and MPR-5H half-circle nozzles. Their different flow rates should be considered during system design. Ensure that adjacent sprinklers overlap sufficiently and that the operating pressure is suitable for the selected nozzles.

Frequently asked questions about the Rain Bird MPR-5F

What is the spray radius of the Rain Bird MPR-5F?

The spray radius ranges from 1.1 to 1.5 m depending on operating pressure. At 2.1 bar, the nozzle reaches approximately 1.5 m.

Can the 360° spray angle be adjusted?

No. The MPR-5F has a fixed full-circle spray pattern. However, the radius can be reduced using the integrated stainless steel adjustment screw.

How much water does the MPR-5F use?

The flow rate ranges from 1.1 to 1.6 l/min, equivalent to approximately 66 to 96 litres per hour when calculated from the rounded performance figures.

What does MPR mean?

MPR stands for Matched Precipitation Rate. These nozzles are designed to provide coordinated precipitation rates across different spray patterns when used in a correctly planned irrigation system.

Which sprinkler bodies are compatible?

The Rain Bird MPR-5F fits compatible Rain Bird spray bodies and shrub adapters, including models from the Rain Bird 1800 Series.

Can I combine the MPR-5F with other MPR nozzles?

Yes. It can be combined with suitable MPR-5Q quarter-circle and MPR-5H half-circle nozzles. Their different flow rates and the required sprinkler spacing should be considered during system design.
